Basic
Installation
1.
Loosen
both
set
screws
from
the
chrome
mast
located
at
the
top
of
the
Trucker
loading
coil.
2.
Remove
and
discard
the
short
sh
i
pp
i
ng
tip.
3. I
nsert
the
included
antenna
whip
fully
into
the
bottom
of
the
mast.
4.
Light
ly
tighten
both
set
screws
.
(Do
not
fully
tighten
at
this
time).
5.
Place
a
lock
washer
on
shaft.
6.
Install
WILSON
TRUCKER
on
mount,
screwing
shaft
into
the
mount
until
it
bottoms
out
7.
Securely
tighten
tapered
hex
nut
on
antenna
mount
8.
Basic
installation
Is
now
complete.
Proceed
to
tuning
instructions.
Tuning
the
TRUCKER
!iingle
Antenna
1.
For
best
performance
and
easiest
tuning,
use
18'
length
of
RG-58
A/U.
RG-8
A/U
or
AG
-
BX
coax.
Do
not
coil
excess
length
as
th
is
creates
an
RF
Choke
.
Rather.
"stuff' it
randomly
under
the
carpet
behind
the
dash
or
other
less
visible
location
.
2.
Read
SWR
on
channels
1.
20.
and
40.
3. If
SWA
is
higher
on
channel
1
than
on
20
or
40,
loosen
set
screw
and
pull
antenna
whip
up
1/4",
and
re-tighten
the
set
screws
.
Read
the
SWR
aga
in.
4.
If
SWR
is
still
higher
on
channel
1,
repeat
step
3
above
until
lowest
SWR
reading
is
obtained
on
channel
20.
5. If l
owest
SWR
obtained
is
below
1.
5:1
on
channel
20,
tighten
both
set
screws:
CAUTION
:
Do
not
over
ti
ghten
the
mast
set
screws.
6.
If
SWR
is
lower
on
channel
1
than
on
20
and
40,
loosen
set
screws
and
remove
antenna
whip
from
mast.
Cut
1/2"
from
the
bottom
and
re-insert
into
mast.Tighten
set
screws
and
read
SWR
aga
in.
7. If
SWR
is
still
lower
on
channel
1,
repeat
step
6
unti
l
lowest
SWR
reading
is
obta
i
ned
on
channel
20
.
8.
If
lowest
SWR
obtained
Is
be
l
ow
1.5:1
on
channe
l
20
,
tighten
both
set
screws.
CAUTION
:
Do
not
over
tighten
the
ma
st
s
et
screws
. If
you
prefer
the
lowest
SWR
to
be
on
any
other
channel
or
frequency,
simply
tune
and
adjust
for
preferred
channel
or
frequency.
9.
After
tuning
is
completed,
securely
tighten
tapered
hex
nut
at
antenna
mount.
CAUTION
:
Do
not
over
tighten
hex
nut.

Tuning
and
installation
of
antenna
is
now
complete
.
You
may
use
the
antenna
chart
below,
for
the
WILSON
2000,
as
an
approximate
guide
for
different
channels.
adjusting
the
antenna
whip
for
the
length
desired
.
