7. Batteries
Charging Lithium Ion Batteries
i Prior to charging, inspect the battery for any visible damage to the case or connector
that could create an electrical shortage.
i The temperature range over which the battery can be charged is 0°Cto+45°C. Charging
the battery outside of this temperature can cause the battery to become hot or to break.
i Be absolutely sure that only a 5 V source is used when charging the battery.
i Care should be taken to charge batteries on a fireproof surface.
i Do not charge batteries near flammable items or liquids.
i Keep a Class C Dry Chemical fire extinguisher nearby.
i Do not continue recharging the battery if it does not recharge within the specified
charging time.
i A lithium ion battery should NEVER be left unattended while charging.
7.2.2 Battery Charger
The lithium ion battery charger is designed to operate from a single 10 A, 120 VAC service
line.
The power supply to charge the battery pack is a 5VDC regulated voltage supply.
