Solution:Thebatterypowerisgettinglow.Plugtheacpoweradapterintoanelectricaloutletand
thenintothecomputer.
•Problem:ThecomputerdisplayremainsblankafteryoupressFntoresumefromsleepmode.
Solution:Checkwhetheranexternalmonitorwasdisconnectedorturnedoffwhilethecomputerwasin
sleepmode.Ifyoudisconnectedorturnedofftheexternalmonitor,connectitorturnitonbeforeresuming
thecomputerfromsleepmode.Whenresumingthecomputerfromsleepmodewithoutattachingthe
externalmonitororturningiton,andthecomputerdisplayremainsblank,pressthedisplay-mode
switchingkey
tobringupthecomputerdisplay.
•Problem:Thecomputerdoesnotresumefromsleepmode,orthesystemstatusindicatorblinksslowly
andthecomputerdoesnotwork.
Solution:Ifthesystemdoesnotresumefromsleepmode,itmighthaveenteredsleeporhibernation
modeautomaticallybecausethebatteryisdepleted.Checkthesystemstatusindicator.
–Ifthesystemstatusindicatorblinksslowly,yourcomputerisinsleepmode.Connecttheacpower
adaptertothecomputer;thenpressFn.
–Ifthesystemstatusindicatorisoff,yourcomputerhasnopowerorisinhibernationmode.Connect
theacpoweradaptertothecomputer;thenpressthepowerbuttontoresumeoperation.
Ifthesystemstilldoesnotresumefromsleepmode,yoursystemmightstoprespondingandyoumight
notbeabletoturnoffthecomputer.Inthiscase,youmustresetthecomputer.Ifyouhavenotsavedyour
data,itmightbelost.Toresetthecomputer,insertastraightenedpaperclipintotheemergency-resethole.
•Problem:Yourcomputerdoesnotentersleeporhibernationmode.
Solution:Checkwhetheranyoptionhasbeenselectedtodisableyourcomputerfromenteringsleep
orhibernationmode.
Ifyourcomputertriestoentersleepmodebuttherequestisrejected,thedeviceattachedtotheUSB
connectormighthavebeendisabled.Ifthisoccurs,doahot-unplug-and-plugoperationfortheUSB
device.
•Problem:Thebatterydischargesslightlywhilethecomputerisinhibernationmode.
Solution:Ifthewakeupfunctionisenabled,thecomputerconsumesasmallamountofpower.This
isnotadefect.
ThinkPadPenProproblem
Problem:TheThinkPadPenProdoesnotperformwell.
Solution:Thebatterypowerforthepenmightbelow.Ensurethatyourcomputerison.Theninsertthepen
intothepenslottochargethepenforaboutfiveminutes.
Softwareproblem
Problem:Aprogramdoesnotrunproperly.
Solution:Ensurethattheproblemisnotbeingcausedbytheprogram.
Checkthatyourcomputerhastheminimumrequiredmemorytoruntheprogram.Seethemanualssupplied
withtheprogram.
Checkthefollowing:
•Theprogramisdesignedtooperatewithyouroperatingsystem.
•Otherprogramsrunproperlyonyourcomputer.
•Thenecessarydevicedriversareinstalled.
