Description
Wolman
®
EHT Exotic Hardwood Treatment is a premium
coating treatment specifically designed for difficult-to-treat,
very dense exotic hardwoods. It provides unsurpassed UV
protection in a pigmented finish that complements the wood’s
original color and brings back its like new look. Wolman EHT
bathes Mahogany, Ipe´ and other tropical hardwoods in a
translucent, natural wood color that helps block premature
graying or silvering from UV exposure. Made with UV
blocking pigment and boosted by a concentrated UV
absorber, EHT retains its color significantly longer than
traditional oil finishes made for hardwood. EHT
incorporates a mildewcide that resists ugly mildew growth on
the coating film. And, its powerful water-repellent system works
longer than typical sealers to repel water and prevent water
damage. Plus, its easy to use, cleans up quickly with water
and dries fast, so you can clean and coat in one day!
Special Features
Y Water Base Formula enhanced with Penetrating Oils to
increase durability and renew weathered wood.
Y Universal, natural brown tone looks great on a
variety of hardwoods like Mahogany, Ipe´ and Teak.
Y Fast-Drying, One-Coat Coverage gets the job done fast.
Finished Look
EHT beautifies wood with translucent, natural wood color
in a matte finish. The see-through color reveals exotic wood
grain and texture; complements original wood color.
Recommended Uses
FOR EXTERIOR, ABOVE GROUND USE ONLY.
WOOD TYPES: Use on all species of exotic hardwoods,
including Mahogany, Ipe´, Ironwood
®
, Pau Lope
®
, Teak and
others. May also be used on pressure-treated lumber, Cedar,
Redwood, and other North American hardwoods.
User Tip Due to the very dense nature of
Mahogany, Ip and other exotic hardwood
species, it is critical to clean the surface and
open the pores of the wood prior to sealing or
staining for proper coating penetration,
adhesion and long term performance. For
example, water puddles that remain intact for
20 minutes indicate the wood surface is not
porous enough to allow a coating to penetrate
or adhere properly.
PROJECTS: Use to beautify and protect decks, porches,
boat docks, boardwalks, outdoor furniture & decor, spa
cabinets, gazebos, arbors & trellises and more.
Surface Preparation
The preparation process outlined below should be followed
to ensure adequate adhesion and optimum performance of
this product.
Step 1 Prepare the Surface:
Use Wolman
®
Deck & Fence Brightener (Liquid
Concentrate) or DeckStrip
®
based on WOOD CONDITION
instructions below. Use product(s) as described on label. For
best results, scrub surface with Wolman
WoodWorx
®
Deck
Brush, and follow with power-washing. After surface
preparation, perform a Splash Test (see Step 2) to confirm
adequate water absorption before applying this product.
Wood Condition:
Uncoated, New Wood To open wood pores before
coating, prepared exotic hardwood with Wolman Deck &
Fence Brightener liquid concentrate.
Uncoated, Weathered Wood Before coating, weathered
wood must be thoroughly cleaned to remove ground-in dirt,
mildew, mold and algae stains, black tannin stains, gray or
silver, UV-damaged wood fibers and any other surface
contaminants. To clean exotic hardwood, use Deck & Fence
Brightener liquid concentrate.
Previously Coated, Weathered Wood Previous coatings
should be removed before application of this product.
If coated with a clear water sealer, Wolman Deck &
Fence Brightener liquid concentrate should be used to
restore the surface and remove residual coating/water
repellency.
If a pigmented oil or latex coating exists, use Wolman
DeckStrip
®
Stain & Finish Remover to strip away
coating. (After stripping, exotic hardwoods may exhibit
black tannin stains on the surface, giving wood an
overall darkened appearance. If this occurs, use
Wolman Deck & Fence Brightener liquid concentrate
according to label directions to remove tannin stains.)
