BEFORE BEGINNING The Standard Miter Gauge is a precision tool and should be handled and cared for as such. It is very important that the miter slot is parallel to the saw blade for this, or any other miter gauge, to work properly. Identify and verify that you have all the parts listed. Read the instructions at least once, familiarizing yourself with the parts and assembly options, before beginning assembly.
SETTING ANGLES The indexing knob (5535, pre-installed for shipping) fits through an indexing hole (select the angle you desire) in the miter gauge. We have installed bronze bushings for wear purposes at the most common angle locations. When using an indexing knob to set an angle, you will need to loosen the handle and remove the indexing knob. Re-install the indexing knob and tighten the handle after changing to the new angle setting. When not used for indexing, screw the indexing knob in the knob holder.
