8 Message
This chapter will introduce message services supported by GSM. Some services may be not supported by
local GSM.
8.1 Message
You can send a new message or reply a message (by service center) if local GSM supports. If your service
provider supports message service, you can receive/send messages as your wish (to set security password,
you must input the password and access message window. The setting of security password is seen in 4.4.3).
Message functions include: new, inbox, outbox, outgoing messages, draftbox, my favorite, setting, voice
mailbox, memory status
Note: when sending or receiveing messages, the matched name you find in phone book is only dependent on
11 numbers behind the number; for other number, only 7 numbers behind the number are needed.
MMSMultimedia Messaging Service, MMS content character ,pictures and sounds .to set security
password, you must input the password and access message window. The setting of security password is seen
in 4.4.3.
Noteuse the MMS must have the network operator
The N5105 sustain the most content 100KB,if the MMS beyond this limit ,the phone can
not incept .
Note :use MMS, have to pay charge to network operatoror serve provider.
MMS service the sustain as :

Sound : MIDIAMRMP3 and AAC.
If the message content the pictures or sounds is not sustain ,the object will not be show or
play.
Note : the sound of AMR only can be play ,can not setup for ring tone (the most ring tone is
64k).
There are many causes can lead to the MMS sent faild ,so please don’t use the MMS sent the
important content .
8.2 Create
8.2.1 SMS
1. TO
Press drivekey and scroll to “receiver”, press number key and input the desired number; or press OK and
access number input window. You can input the desired number directly or select the receiver’s number from
phone book or group. Press phonebook and access receiver window, press U , D or the touch wheel to select
the receiver, press OK and enter then finish the operation. to access receiver list window, press menu ,
select send to send message and select create to create receiver; select phone book to access receiver
window; select Group sent message to group ;select delete to delete the desired receiver; select delete all to
delete all receivers. When the selected numbers exceed 20, the phone will prompt” Too many select!”
