20.10 Wireless 5GHz Bridge
The Router can function as a wireless network bridge to wirelessly connect two or more APs.

Use this screen to set up your Wireless Distribution System (WDS) links between the Router and
other wireless APs. You need to know the MAC address of the peer device. Once the security
settings of peer sides match one another, the connection between devices is made.
Wireless Bridge Limitations
At the time of writing, WDS is compatible with other APs of the same brand only. Not all models
support WDS
links.
The following figure illustrates how WDS link works between APs. Notebook computer A is a
w
ireless client connecting to access point AP 1. AP 1 has no wired Internet connection, but can
establish a WDS link with access point AP 2, which does. When AP 1 has a WDS link with AP 2, the
notebook computer can access the Internet through AP 2.
