Power push button for ON |
OFF | MAINTENANCE. The push
button is a multi-function button
that must be held down for
specified durations to complete
each action.
a. Press the push button for
more than one (1) second
from either OFF or
MAINTENANCE mode to
turn the battery ON.
b. Press and hold the push button for 3-5 seconds during
ONmode and this will put the battery to MAINTENANCE
mode. This disconnects the cells and reduces the idle
power consumption of the battery.
c. Press and hold the push button for more than ten (10)
seconds during either ON or MAINTENANCE mode and the
battery will turn OFF.
cKeep the battery ON after successfully mounting and
integrating it into a power system except when storing,
moving, or shipping it.
NOTE: MAINTENANCE mode is a state where the battery has
been disconnected from the DC bus by the contactor but the
communication is still active. The battery is immediately
connected to the DC bus once the button has been pressed.
NOTE: The battery LED shall blink once per second for the
first three seconds while held down, then transition to four
times per second.
Cold Ambient Temperature
Operation
The Xantex Battery can operate down to 32°F(0°C) while
recharging the battery and –4°F(–20°C) while discharging.
There is an internal heating device inside the battery.
During cold temperature recharge, if the internal cell
temperature is below freezing the Xantex BatteryBMS will
disconnect the cells from the terminals until the internal
temperature has risen above 30°F(~0°C). This will prevent
damage to the cells.
During cold temperature discharge, if the internal cell
temperature is below –4°F(–20°C) then the BMS will
disconnect the cells from the terminals until the internal
temperature has risen above 5°F(–15°C). This will prevent
damage to the cells.
NOTE: Discharging and recharging the battery will produce a
limited amount of heat inside the battery but will not be enough
to sustain a significant temperature rise in a very cold climate.
The heater mat shall only operate while the lowest cell
temperature is below 38°F (3.3°C) and pin12 is high at 12V
signifying a charge source is available. The heater shall turn off
once the lowest cell temperature is above 41°F (5°C).
