Insert the Xerox Production Print Services (XPPS)
version 3.7x software CD ROM into the CD ROM drive
on your workstation.
a. In a terminal window from your home directory,
type:
cd /cdrom
<enter>
ls
<enter>
You should see the XPPS version. Take note of
this to enter the correct path below.
In a terminal window from your home directory, for
example, /export/home/xrxusr, type the following:
cp /cdrom/xpps_<version>/solaris/*.* ./
where version is separated by underscores, for
example 3.1.11 would be:
cp /cdrom/xpps_3111/Solaris/*.* ./
Download the XPPS version 3.7x software from the
Internet.
a. Access the web site www.xerox.com. and select
the “Drivers” link.
b. In the [Search] text box labeled "Quick Search for
Drivers and Downloads", enter XDS Plus and
select [Search].
c. On the search results list, select the item
containing XPPS software version 3.7x for Sun
Solaris 2.6 and 2.8.
d. Download the install file named
xdsplus_install.bin to your home directory.
2. On a Terminal window, enter the following command to
set the execute permission for the installer. To verify the
filename, perform a directory list (ls) first.
For a CD install, type:
chmod +x XDSPlus_install.bin
For a web download install, type:
chmod +x XDSPlus_install.bin
3. Enter the following command on the Terminal window
command line to start the installation:
For a CD install, type:
./XDSPlus_install.bin
