34 DocuMate 632 Scanner User’s Guide
The icons next to each scan configuration indicate the scanning
mode.
You can also click the Edit button or double-click the configuration
to see more detailed information about the selected configuration.
Select Format and Page(s)—A set of file formats for the scanned
image for the selected button. The formats are based on the type
of destination application you select. This example shows the
formats that apply to the PaperPort Desktop.
The icon names indicate their file types. See “Selecting Page
Format Options” on page 43 for more about the formats.
Use Document Feeder/Use Flatbed—These two options are pre-
set to remain selected so you can scan from both the Automatic
Document Feeder and the Flatbed glass. Your scanner senses if
pages are in the Automatic Document Feeder and automatically
scans them when you press the Simplex or Duplex button, or you
click a scan button in the One Touch 4.0 utility.
To scan from the Flatbed glass using the Simplex or Duplex
buttons, or the scan buttons in the One Touch utility, you must first
remove any pages from the Automatic Document Feeder.
Otherwise, the scanner will sense those pages, and scan them
instead.
Options tab—Displays a window for selecting options related to
the selected destination application for the scanned image.
NOTE: Use Configure Before Scan if you want to set the
scanning mode manually before scanning. See “Configuring
Before Scanning” on page 63.
NOTE: When scanning from WIA, PaperPort, or other TWAIN
applications, you must choose to scan from the Automatic
Document Feeder or the Flatbed glass. See the sections
“Scanning from PaperPort” on page 85 and “Scanning with the
Windows Image Acquisition” on page 110 for details.
