the end of a completed file. 1EORb denotes that the file continues onto

Block count* 6-10 This is the number of data blocks contained on this reel of this file.
Record count 11-20 This is the number of data records (items) processed on this reel of this file.
This field is blank for COBOL trailer labels.
Hash total 21-30 This is a host computer-generated value, which is altered each time the tape
file is updated.
Reserved 31-80 Unspecified contents.
