3-11 About Setup
TO PREPARE FOR EX7750 CONFIGURATION
1. Copy a test page to verify the printer is functioning normally.
2. Turn off the printer and connect the interface cable from the printer to the EX7750.
3. To confirm this connection, turn on the printer and allow it to warm up. Then turn on
the EX7750, and print a Test Page from the EX7750 Control Panel.
To print a Test Page, press the Menu button on the Control Panel to display the
Functions menu. Choose Print Pages, and then choose Test Page.
4. Shut down the EX7750 first and then the printer.

OTE: The EX7750 must be shut down correctly. For information, see “Shutting down
the EX7750” on page 7-24. For information about how to turn off the printer, see the
copier documentation.
5. Connect the network cable to the EX7750, as described in Chapter 1.
The network should already be installed and operational.
6. Turn on the printer and then the EX7750.
For information about how to start the EX7750, see “Starting the EX7750” on
page 7-21.
Proceed to EX7750 Setup (see “EX7750 Setup from the Control Panel” on page 4-1).
Ensuring virus-free operation of the EX7750 on a network
The EX7750 is prone to computer viruses since it uses Windows XP system
architecture. We highly recommend that a network administrator periodically run an
anti-virus program on the EX7750 to ensure network security in your environment.
Scanning the EX7750 on a network
A network administrator can scan the EX7750 from a Windows computer using
commercially available anti-virus software.
NOTE: Install anti-virus software on the EX7750 from the FACI according to the
software documentation. Make sure the EX7750 is idle when the anti-virus software is
running.
