If you have an external battery charger
1. Remove the battery pack (see page 49).
2. Use the external battery charger to charge the battery.
3. Install the battery (see page 51).
Removing and installing the battery
You can remove the battery and use an (optional) external charger to
charge it.
Removing the battery
1. To swap with a charged battery:
Use one of the methods described in “Suspending operation”
on page 32 to suspend operation.
If a charged battery is not availa ble:
Save your work and close all running programs; then shut down
the computer or put the computer in Hibernation mode (see
“Suspending operation” on page 32).
Note: To avoid losing unsaved data, wait until the computer has
completed switching to Hibernation mode before
removing the battery.
