12 The Digital Conductometer CG 855 can make – conductivity measurements ranging from 0,1 S · cm-1 ... 19,99 mS · cm-1 and – temperature measurement from – 199,9 ... 199,9 °C. This unit also incorporates a device for coating the measuring cells with platinum black. 1 Commencing operation Important: Before connecting-up and switching-on, make sure that the nominal operating voltage of the unit agrees with the actual mains voltage. The nominal operating voltage is stated on the type specification plate.
13 For manual temperature compensation, turn the function switch "FUNKTION" to the setting "man" and set the "T-comp" control knob (Fig. 1, Pos. 3) to the actual temperature of the sample solution. A temperature sensor is not required in the function switch "FUNKTION" setting "man". For automatic temperature compensation, turn the function switch "FUNKTION" to the setting "auto" (with a temperature sensor in the combicell or with a separate temperature sensor Pt 1000 connected).
14 5 Chart recorder output The Digital Conductometer CG 855 has a chart recorder output (see Fig. 2, Pos. 3) with a source resistance of Ri = 2 k , for connecting a servo-type chart recorder whose input is floating with respect to ground. The available chart recorder output voltage is 1 mV/digit of the liquid crystal display for conductivity measurements. This output voltage corresponds to the "abs" function in all conductivity measuring ranges.
15 8 Warnings and safety instructions For safety and functional reasons, the Digital Conductometer CG 855 must basically be opened by authorized persons only; e.g. work at the electric appliance must only be carried out by trained specialists. With unauthorized operation of the Digital Conductometer CG 855 as well as careless or deliberate damaging, the warranty is no longer valid. The Digital Conductometer CG 855 conforms to Protection Class I.
