Replacement O-ring
- Remove the elastic silicone O-ring
from the red plastic part of the logger
housing (see picture 5).
- Cleaning the slot in which the O-ring
was located (see picture 5).
- Take a new silicone O-ring, cover it
with a thin layer of grease and place it
in the slot.
The layer of grease should cover the
O-ring completely (so that it
glistens) but not leave lumps of
residue on it.
A used silicone O-ring must always
be disposed of. Under no
circumstances should it be reused!
This is because it is deformed when
the two parts of the housing are
screwed together. If it is used again
it will not make a proper seal!
Take care not to overstretch the new
elastic ring and not to damage when
replacing it!
Remplacement du joint
d’étanchéité
- Enlever le joint d’étanchéité en
silicone de la partie en plastique
rouge du boîtier de l’enregistreur (voir
image 5)
- Nettoyer l’espace où se trouvait le
joint (voir image 5)
- Prendre un joint neuf, le recouvrir
d’une couche fine de graisse et le
remettre dans l’espace adapté.
La couche de graisse doit couvrir
complètement le joint d’étanchéité (il
doit briller) mais ne pas laisser de
résidus dessus.
Un joint d’étanchéité en silicone doit
toujours être mis au rebut. Il ne doit
jamais être réutilisé ! La raison est
qu’il est alors déformé lorsque les
deux parties du boîtiers sont
serrées. S’il est réutilisé, il
n’assurera pas un rôle d’étanchéité !
Attention à ne pas étirer le nouveau
joint en plastique et de ne pas
l’endommager en le remplaçant !
