4.3.1 Determining the cell constant (calibrating in the
control standard)
Note
This method of automatically determining the cell constant by calibration with
the 0.01 mol/l KCL standard solution can only be used for measuring cells
with cell constants in the range 0.450 ... 0.500 cm
-1
or 0.800 ... 1.200 cm
-1
.
This is how you can determine the cell constant:
1 Press the <CAL> key until CELL appears on the display.
2 Press the <RUN/ENTER> key.
3 Press the <CAL> key repeatedly, until the calibrated cell con-
stant appears on the display: CAL appears on the display.
4 The displayed value is the current, calibrated cell constant. You
can:
accept this setting for measuring with <M> or
continue with step 5 and start a new calibration.
5 Immerse the measuring cell in the control standard solution,
0.01 mol/KCl.
