6.26 Viewingyourcameraexternally
NowyouhavesetupyourDDNSaccountandenabledUPNP,youshouldbeabletoviewyourcameraexternally.
TheexternaladdressofyourcameraismadeupoftwopartsyourDDNSaccountaddressandtheportyouopenedvia
UPnP.
Forexample:
DDNSHostnameaccount:http://yourname.dtdns.com
UPnPExternalPortRange:81508350
IfyouhavejustoneYcamattachedtoyournetwork,yourYcamshoulddefaulttothefirstportinthatrange.Sowith
theaboveinformation,yourIPcamerawouldbeusingport8150,andwouldhavetheaddressof:
http://yourname.dtdns.com:8150
Openanyinternetbrowseronyourcomputer,andtypeyourownDDNSaccountname,followedby:8150(that’sa
colon,followedby8150).Afterafewmoments,yourCameraHomepageshouldbedisplayed.Youcanthenloginto
viewyourcameraorchangeyoursettingsasnormal.
Toconfirmyourownexternalcameraaddress,staywithintheSettingsmenu,andclickon“System”atthetoprightof
thescreen.Thiswilllistvarioussettingsofyourcamera.UnderUPNPPortForwarding, it shouldlistyourcameras
hostnameandport.
Note:IfyouhaveonlyjustregisteredyourDDNSaccountand/orHostName,itmaytakeawhileuntilyouaccountis
activatedandregisteredontheinternet.
Note:SomeISPsdisabletheabilitytoviewyourcameraviaanexternaladdressfromthesamenetworkasyourcamera.
Ifthisisthecase,trytoconnecttoyourcameraviayourDDNSaddressfromamobilephone,orfromanotherinternet
connection.
ViewingyourcameraexternallywithoutusingaDDNSservice
Thisispossibleifyourbroadbandconn ectionusesastaticIPaddresstodelivertheinternettoyourhouse.

