4TERMINALSETTING
4.1TERMINALCONFIGURATION‐COMMON
IfaDHCPserveristobeusedforconfiguringtheterminalnetworksettings,enabletheuseofDHCP;
Otherwise, set the IP address of the terminal, the subnet mask and default gateway and check that
DHCPisdisabled;
In both cases, set the SafeQ IP address of the
server and the port number; note thatthis is not the
port of the webinterface that youwere askedfor duringinstallation butthe TCP port on which the
SafeQServercommunicateswiththeterminals.Bydefaultitsnumberis4096
WhenenteringIPaddressesinthevariousmenu
options,notethatyoumustenterallthreedigitsof
allthefournumericfieldsoftheaddress.Forexample,toenter192.168.0.37,youpressthe
192168000037buttonsontheon‐screenkeypadandthenconfirmwithOK.
Whentherequiredparametershavebeenset(orchanged),pushthe"Save"
buttonandexittheset‐
tings.Theterminalwillrestartandthenewsettingswilltakeeffect.
When entering the data on screen manually, you should hear a beep with every registered touch.
Press the screenonly untilyour depressioncauses a beep. Do notuse greater force than necessary.

4.2 ENTERINGSERVICEMENU
Afterthebootupofterminal,themainmenuwilldisplay(withthe“Placecard”message).Toenterservice
menudothefollowing:
1. touchthetopleftcornerofthescreen
2. touchthetoprightcornerofthescreen
3. touchthetopleftcornerofthescreenagain
4. touchthetoprightcornerofthescreenagain
5. anumerical keyboardshould display.Pressthe0 (zero)button four timesand then press OK.Apre‐
conditionisthatthedefaultaccesscodefortheservicemenu(0000)hasnotbeenchanged
6. theterminalservicemenu
shouldnowbedisplayed
IftheterminalisconfiguredtousePINauthenticationonly(nocards),themainmenuwillNOTbedisplayed
aftertheterminalbootsup.Inthiscase,enter000000000(ninezeroes)inthePINentryscreen,andthenpro‐
ceedwithstep5above.
Theadministratoris
advisedtochangethedefaultaccesscodetotheservicemenu(0000)topreventusers
fromchanginganyofthesettings.
Note:Theprocedureforenteringintoservicemenudescribedabovecorrespondstotheservicemenulevel1
(siteadministratorlevel).Thereinafterindocumenttherearescreenshotsrelevanttoservice
menulevel2(all
themenuoptions)andthereforesomeoptionsmaybehiddenwhenenteringintoservicemenulevel1.
