VX-7R OPERATING MANUAL68
The VX-7R can display various information provided by internal sensors. Available se-
lections are “Current Time,” “Battery Voltage,” “Temperature,” and “Audio Wave-form.”
Also, when the optional Barometric Pressure unit (SU-1) is installed, you get the unique
capability of providing readout of the current barometric pressure. This information is then
used for calculation of your current altitude and weather forecast.
The Barometric Pressure unit requires calibration of the “offset” parameters, so that differ-
ences in pressure can be used to calculate altitude. This procedure requires that you have a
calculated barometer, and that you know your current altitude. If you are at sea level, of
course, the latter parameter requires no research.
The Sensor mode can only display while the VX-7R is operating in the Mono
band mode (except the Weather Forecast mode). The internal sensor mea-
sures continuously unless the Sensor mode is disabled.
To display the sensor information:
1. Press the key, then press the key to enter the Set Mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL to select the Menu Item labeled (
