If the engine fails to start, release the start switch, wait a few seconds, and then try again. Each starting attempt should be as short as possible to preserve the battery.

Since heat and deposits will cause any spark plug to slowly erode, they should be removed and checked in accordance with the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart. In addition, the condition of the spark plugs can reveal the condition of the engine.

Pour only 2.5 L (2.6 US qt, 2.2 Imp.qt) of the specified amount of recommended engine oil through the filler hole, insert the dipstick, and then tighten the oil filler cap. 13. Remove the engine oil filler cap, and then gradually fill the oil tank with the remaining oil quantity while regularly checking the oil level on the dipstick.
