Fuel gauge When the key is turned to “ON”, the speedometer needle will sweep once across the speed range and then return to zero in order to test the electrical circuit. The fuel gauge indicates the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. The needle moves towards “E” (Empty) as the fuel level decreases.

Gasohol There are two types of gasohol: gasohol containing ethanol and that containing methanol. Gasohol containing ethanol can be used if the ethanol content does not exceed 10% (E10). Gasohol containing methanol is not recommended by Yamaha because it can cause damage to the fuel system or vehicle performance problems.

If not, ask a Yamaha dealer to check the electrical circuit. 3. Start the engine by pushing the start switch. If the engine fails to start, release the start switch, wait a few seconds, and then try again. Each starting attempt should be as short as possible to preserve the battery.

At the recommended shift points shown in the following table, close the throttle, and at the same time, quickly pull the clutch lever in. 5. Shift the transmission into second gear. Follow the same procedure when shifting to the next higher gear.
