Questi due esempi mostrano come le porte PRIMARY e SECONDARY possano essere utilizzate per avere un

sovrannumero nei sistemi. Nel primo esempio, se un collegamento primario smette di funzionare, il sistema

passa automaticamente al secondario e l’operazione continua senza interruzione. Tuttavia, se smette di fun-

zionare lo switching hub, l’intero sistema smette di funzionare. Nel secondo esempio, i singoli switching hub

sono utilizzati per collegamento primario e secondario, in modo che se anche lo switching hub A smette di

funzionare, l’operazione continua sul secondario mediante lo switching hub B
