PROGRAM CHANGE keypad
The PROGRAM CHANGE keypad is primarily
used for selecting a voice or confirming the
currently selected voice name and number.
Other functions include selecting letters when
naming a User voice, and confirming ([YES]) or
canceling ([NO]) specific store and other
operations.
[PORTAMENTO] switch
For turning the portamento function on and off.
[LAYER] switch
For selecting one of the six Layer modes.
[STORE] switch
For initiating Store operations.
[ARPEGGIO/SEQ] switch
For turning the Arpeggiator or Step Sequencer
on and off.
DEMO
Pressing [PORTAMENTO] and [LAYER]
simultaneously lets you access the
Demonstration songs.
[EDIT ROTARY]
switch
The 6-position [EDIT
ROTARY] switch lets you
designate one of the six
Edit menus, as printed on
the panel to the right of
each menu.
LCD
The back-lit LCD (Liquid Crystal
Display) provides various types
of information which clearly
indicates the current operating
status of the AN1x as you select
voices, turn knobs and press
switches.

Synthesis Block Diagram
The Analog Physical Modeling synthesis
block diagram provides a handy visual
reference or reminder of how the signal
flows through the key blocks, or
components of the AN1x's tone
generation architecture, which is helpful
when manipulating the various
parameters during voice editing or real-
time sound control.
Parameter value [UP/DOWN] switches
These ten switches are used to access and edit specific parameters (as printed on the
panel), depending on which Edit menu is currently selected with the [EDIT ROTARY]
switch. Pressing the upper area of a parameter value [UP/DOWN] switch
increments the parameter value or setting, and pressing the lower area decrements
it. Simply pressing a switch once will display the parameter name and current value
or setting in the LCD. Thereafter, pressing or holding the upper or lower area of the
switch will change the value or setting accordingly.
Keyboard
The 61-key touch-sensitive
keyboard features Initial
(velocity) and After Touch
(pressure) control.

2 [FOOTSWITCH] jack
An optional Yamaha FC4 or FC5 Footswitch connected to the [FOOTSWITCH] jack can be
used to control hold on/off, Portamento on/off and other discrete controllers.
3 [FOOT CONTROLLER] jack
An optional Yamaha FC7 foot controller connected to the [FOOT CONTROLLER] jack can be
used for control of various continuous or discrete controllers, depending on controller
assignment.
4 [FOOT VOLUME] jack
An optional Yamaha FC7 foot controller connected to the [FOOT VOLUME] jack can be used
to regulate overall volume (or any other assigned continuous controller function.).
5 [POWER] switch
Press the [POWER] switch to turn the AN1x on and off.
6 [DC IN] terminal
Connect the supplied Yamaha PA-3B Power Adaptor to the [DC IN] terminal.
(CAUTION: Do not attempt to use an AC adaptor other than the Yamaha PA-3B or
equivalent, since the use of an incompatible adaptor may cause irreparable damage to
the AN1x, and may even pose a serious shock hazard.)
7 OUTPUT jacks
The stereo OUTPUT jacks let you connect the AN1x to an external stereo
amplifier/speaker system. When using a mono system, connect it to the [L/MONO]
jack.
8 [PHONES] jack
The [PHONES] jack lets you connect a set of stereo headphones to the AN1x for private
listening.

Parameter waarde [UP/DOWN] schakelaars
Met deze tien schakelaars kunt u toegang krijgen tot specifieke parameters (zoals
op het paneel afgebeeld staat) en deze wijzigen, afhankelijk van het huidig met
de [EDIT ROTARY] schakelaar geselecteerde Edit menu. Als u op het bovenste
gedeelte van de parameter waarde [UP/DOWN] schakelaar drukt, wordt de
desbetreffende parameter waarde verhoogd, en met het onderste gedeelte wordt
deze waarde verlaagd. Als u simpelweg op een schakelaar drukt verschijnt de
parameternaam en huidige waarde of instelling in de LCD. Als u het bovenste- of
onderste gedeelte indrukt of ingedrukt houd wordt deze waarde aan de hand
van de ingedrukte toets gewijzigd.
Synthese Blokdiagram
Het Analog Physical Modeling Synthese
blokdiagram is een handige visuele
referentie of herinnering aan hoe het
signaal door de diverse blokken
gestuurd wordt, of de componenten van
de toongenerator architectuur van de
AN1x in elkaar zit, wat handig kan zijn
bij het wijzigen van verschillende
parameters of tijdens realtime
geluidsbesturing.
Toetsenbord
Het aanslaggevoelig toetsenbord
met 61 toetsen is druk- en
nadrukgevoelig (inital touch en
aftertouch)
PROGRAM CHANGE numerieke
toetsenbord.
Het numerieke PROGRAM CHANGE
toetsenbord is voornamelijk bedoeld om
voices te selecteren of de huidige voicenaam
en nummer te bevestigen. Andere functies
zijn het selecteren van tekens bij het
benoemen van een User Voice, en het
bevestigen[YES] of annuleren[NO] bij andere
specifieke handelingen.
[PORTAMENTO] schakelaar
hiermee kunt u de portamento functie aan en
uit zetten.
[LAYER] schakelaar
Voor het selecteren van één van de zes layer
modes.
[STORE] schakelaar
Voor het opslaan van data.
[ARPEGGIO/SEQ] schakelaar
Voor het aan- en uitzetten van de Arpeggiator
of Step Sequencer

Als u [PORTAMENTO] en [LAYER]
tegelijkertijd indrukt krijgt u toegang tot de
Demonstratie Songs.
2 [FOOTSWITCH] jack
U kunt op de [FOOTSWITCH] jack een los verkrijgbare Yamaha FC4 of FC5 aansluiten,
zodat u hold aan/uit, Portamento aan/uit en andere directe controllers kunt besturen.
3 [FOOTCONTROLLER] jack
U kunt op de [FOOTCONTROLLER] jack een los verkrijgbare Yamaha FC7 aansluiten, zodat
u de toegewezen controller hiermee kunt besturen.
4 [FOOTVOLUME] jack
U kunt op de [FOOTCONTROLLER] jack een los verkrijgbare Yamaha FC7 aansluiten, zodat
u de algehele volume (of andere toegewezen controller) hiermee kunt besturen.
5 [POWER] schakelaar
Druk op de [POWER] schakelaar om de AN1x aan en uit te zetten.

6 [DC IN] aansluiting
SLuit de meegeleverde Yamaha PA-3B adaptor aan op de [DC IN] aansluiting.
(PAS OP!: Probeer nooit een andere adaptor dan de Yamaha PA-3B (of vergelijkbaar) te
gebruiken, aangezien het gebruik van een incompatibele adaptor onherroepelijke
schade aan de AN1x, of zelf een gevaarlijke stroomschok kan veroorzaken.)
7 OUPUT jacks
De OUTPUT jacks geven de mogelijkheid de AN1x aan te sluiten op een extern stereo
versterker/luidspreker systeem. Als u een mono systeem heeft, gebruikt u de [L/MONO]
jack.
8 [PHONES] jack
U kunt op de [PHONES] jack een hoofdtelefoon aansluiten als u privé wilt oefenen.
