You should give the right-of-way to any vessels shown in white area (you are the Give-Way vessel). Any vessels in the shaded area must yield to you (they are the Give-Way vessels). Both you and the meeting vessel must alter course to avoid each other.

This is generally when the keel line of the boat is up about 3 to 5 degrees. With the bow up, the boat may have a greater tendency to steer to one side or the other. Compensate for this as you steer. The trim tab can also be adjusted to help offset this effect.

The condition of the spark plug can indicate something about the condition of the engine. For example, if the center electrode porcelain is very white, this could indicate an intake air leak or carburetion problem in that cylinder. Do not attempt to diagnose any problems yourself. Instead, take the outboard motor to a Yamaha dealer.

The fuel filter must be reassembled carefully with the O-ring, filter cup, and hoses in place. Loosen the bolt that secures the fuel filter in place. Loosen the ring nut of the filter cup. Remove the filter cup, catching any spilled fuel in a container. Remove and inspect the filter element and O-ring to make sure they are in good condition. Replace them if necessary.

ECM00680 CAUTION: 3. Remove the oil filler cap. Add the correct amount of oil through the filler hole, and install the filler cap. If the low oil pressure warning indicator does not turn off or if there are oil leaks, stop the engine and find the cause.

Prepare a suitable container that holds a larger amount than the engine oil capacity. Loosen and remove the drain screw while holding the container under the drain hole.
