This section descrit_s the basic copying operation. The operation steps are explained by using the buttons on the front panel and the remote
control.

<Preparing a CD>
1 • Press _ (OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control) to
open the disc tray.
2, Load the CD to record from on the disc tray.
Place a CD correctly aligned in the recessed area of the disc
tray with its label side facing up.
When reading the disc information has been completed, the
display changes as follows, and this unit becomes ready for
operation.

3, Press _ (OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control) to
close the disc tray.
• The disc tray can be also closed by pressing the front edge of
the disc tray gently, ff the disc tray is closed in this way, this
unit starts playback of a CD. Press D to stop playback.
This unit starts reading the disc information (type and capacity
of the disc) When the disc is loaded. It takes approximately 10
to 15 seconds to complete the reading.
The fol]owing message appears on the display during the
reading.
