3 Setting up iXOS-JUKEMAN
3.1 Introduction
iXOS-JUKEMAN must be set up before you can start and use the soft-
ware. The following sections will tell you how to:
• Set up license keys. This section may be skipped if you have no li-
cense keys and want to test the software in demo mode.
• Set up caches and buffers. Setting up a directory cache will improve
the overall performance of the server. Setting up this cache pays off as
soon as a new jukebox is attached to the server.
• Set up devices. This sections tells you how to configure device de-
scription files which allows you to access the disks in your jukeboxes,
drives and so on.
• Set up views. Here you learn how to set up the presentation of the
iXOS-JUKEMAN file system. By default iXOS-JUKEMAN sets up two
views, which export all disks in both PC format and Rock Ridge format.
• Intregrate iXOS-JUKEMAN into the network. This section describes
how to set up both the server side and the client side of iXOS-
JUKEMAN, allowing all clients to access the disks they need.
