B Install the main unit (A).
Rest the rear edge of the main unit
(A) on the front edges of the cutouts in
the side panels (D), then slide the main
unit backward firmly until it stops (so
that there is no clearance between the
main unit side panels and the stand, as
shown in the illustration “a”).
WATCH YOUR FINGERS WHILE
DOING THIS!! Also be sure to place
your hands at least 10 centimeters from
either end of the main unit when posi-
tioning it.
There is slight horizontal play be-
tween the main unit and side panels, so
center the main unit, as shown in the
illustration “b”, then attach the rear of
the main unit with two 6 x 14
millimeter flat-head screws 4, and the
front of the main unit with four more 6
x 14 millimeter flat-head screws 4 as
shown in the illustration.
N Connect the pedal cord.
The pedal cord from the pedal box
must be plugged into the corresponding
connectors in the main unit. The plug
only goes in one way (the lug on the
connector should face the rear of the
unit, as shown in the illustration), so
don’t try to force it in the wrong way
around. Once connected, attach the
cord clamps to the rear panel as shown,
then clip the cord into the clamps.
M Be sure to set the
adjuster.
For stability, an adjuster is provided
on the bottom of the pedal box (C).
Rotate the adjuster until it comes in
firm contact with the floor surface. The
adjuster ensures stable pedal operation
and facilitates pedal effect control. If
the adjuster is not in firm contact with
the floor surface, distorted sound may
result.
IMPORTANT
After assembling the Clavinova, check once
more to make sure that all screws have
been securely fastened.
If the stand leans to the side, makes unu-
sual noises, or otherwise seems unstable
during use, check and tighten all screws
while following the assembly instructions
given above.
