Troubleshooting

Is the IEEE1394 port recognized properly by the operating system?

Follow the instruction for the IEEE1394 interface card or the computer, and

check that the IEEE1394 port is recognized by the operating system properly.

If not, refer to the instruction for the IEEE1394 interface card or the computer.

If the IEEE1394 port is still not recognized, there may be a problem with the

device driver or elsewhere.

Contact the manufacturer of the IEEE1394 interface card or the computer.

Does the CRW-F1DX drive operate properly if the IEEE1394 cable is connected

to the other IEEE1394 port of the computer?

If it does, the specific port of the computer does not operate properly. Contact

the manufacturer of the IEEE1394 interface card or the computer.

If the CRW-F1DX drive does not operate properly with any IEEE1394 port,

contact the store of purchase or your nearest Yamaha dealer (listed at the back

of manual).

For USB connection

4 The operating system does not start up properly.

Is the USB 2.0 interface card installed properly? (For Windows)

Refer to the instruction for the USB 2.0 interface card.

5 The CRW-F1DX drive is not recognized by the operating system.

(Refer to page 26 for Macintosh or page 39

for Windows to check

recognition of the CRW-F1DX drive.)

Is the 1394/USB selector set to USB?

Set the 1394/USB selector of the CRW-F1DX to USB.

Is the CRW-F1DX drive connected properly to the computer with the USB

cable?

Check that the USB cable is fully connected to the CRW-F1DX drive and the

computer. (P. 23 and 25 for Macintosh, P. 36 and 38 for Windows)
