Precautions • Avoid using the DG-Stomp in the following locations to prevent possible damage: • In direct sunlight or next to heating equipment. • In extremely cold or hot locations. • Locations exposed to high humidity or excessive dust. • Locations subject to strong shocks or vibration. • Before making any connections, make sure that the power is switched OFF on the DG-Stomp and any external devices.

Hold to change the Group Number by +1/-1. Simultaneously press the [UP] and [DOWN] buttons to switch between the USER ↔ PRESET Areas. Also, their flashing lamps are used to indicate the relationship between the patch data value and the knob’s position.
Nomenclature ● Amp Section !2 u i o !0 u Amp Select Switch (LEAD1-CLEAN2) !1 !0 Tone Controls (TREBLE, MIDDLE, BASS, PRESENCE) Selects one of the eight preset guitar amplifier types. In the Utility Mode it is used to select functions you want to set such as Foot Switch or MIDI functions, etc. Controls the sound level of each tone.
Nomenclature !5 Modulation Group Effect Buttons (CHORUS/FLANGER/PHASER/ROTARY/ TREMOLO) These buttons set the type of Modulation Effect to be used. The selected effect’s lamp will light. A secondary parameter for the effect can be set by turning the SPEED or DEPTH knob while holding the button of the currently selected effect. !6 Speed Knob (SPEED) Sets the Speed parameter and a secondary parameter of the Modulation Group’s Effects. !9 Time Knob (TIME) Sets the Delay time.

Connect a foot controller (expression pedal) (optional) such as the YAMAHA FC-7, etc. to this jack, and control DG-Stomp parameters or use the device as a wah pedal. (→ pages 21, 25) * To protect the speakers, set the OUTPUT knob !1 to “0” before switching the power ON/OFF.
Connections Before making any connections to any of the DG-Stomp’s INPUT and/or OUTPUT jacks, make sure that the power on the DG-Stomp and all other devices is turned OFF to prevent electrical shock or damage to the devices. ■ Connecting the Power Use the supplied power adaptor (AC-10) to supply power to the DG-Stomp. 1. Make sure the DG-Stomp’s Power Switch (STAND-BY) is in the OFF ( ) position. 2. Connect the power adaptor’s plug to the AC IN jack on the DG-Stomp. 3.
Connections ■ Connecting Headphones Connect a pair of headphones to the PHONES jack (standard stereo) on the DG-Stomp to play or practice in private. The volume of the headphones can be controlled with the OUTPUT knob. * When a pair of headphones is connected, the output from the OUTPUT jack and the DIGITAL OUT jack will still deliver sound output. When using headphones, use at a comfortable volume so as not to cause shock to your hearing.
Using the DG-Stomp First, connect a guitar to the DG-Stomp and try some sounds. ■ Produce Sound 1. Before connecting, turn off the power on the DGStomp and connect a guitar to the INPUT jack on the rear panel. When connecting a high impedance guitar set the switch to LOW ( ), set the switch to HIGH ( ) when connecting a low impedance guitar. Note: When the patch’s number is shown on the display the device is in a condition called the PLAY MODE.
Using the DG-Stomp ■ Try Changing the Settings Use the knobs or buttons on the panel to create your own original tone. ● Try creating your own sound Knob positions do not represent the current patch’s value settings so the knob must be aligned with its setting value (editable condition) in order to make changes to the value. For this reason, the following rules apply when a knob is moved. • Rotate a knob, if the [UP] lamp flashes, rotate the knob to the right (toward 10).
Using the DG-Stomp ● Set the Speaker Simulator The speaker simulator is a special circuit that adds the live characteristics of a speaker to the tone output of the DG-Stomp. It is best used when you are listening through a pair of headphones or when connected directly via a line to a mixer or recorder. Press the [SP. SIM] button to turn the Speaker Simulator ON (the lamp will light). Press the button again to turn the Speaker Simulator OFF (light is off).
Using the DG-Stomp ■ Try Selecting Another Patch The DG-Stomp holds a total of 180 patch programs (patch) in its internal memory. The 180 patches are divided into two areas each containing 10 groups, 3 banks and 3 patches. Try selecting some of the different patches and try out some of the different sounds. To select a different patch, use one of the three methods described below. • AREA There are two areas, the USER AREA and the PRESET AREA.
Using the DG-Stomp ● Using the Foot Switch and the Bank Switch • Press a foot switch (1-3) to select the corresponding patch number 1-3 in the currently selected group/bank. * If the Foot Switch’s function is set to “EFF” in the Utility mode, it will not be possible to select a patch using the Foot Switch. (See page 23) • Press and hold the BANK switch until the display and the foot switch lamp flashes then remove your foot. In this condition, the following procedure can be used.
