Procedure (2)
1. Sidestand switch
• Disconnect the sidestand switch leads
from the wireharness.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω100) to the
sidestand switch.
Positive tester probe

blue/white
Terminal
Negative tester probe

blue/black
Terminal
• Move the sidestand to up position and
down position.
• Check the sidestand switch for continuity.

:Continuity X: No continuity
• Is the sidestand switch OK?
Replace the sides-
tand switch.

2. Neutral switch
• Disconnect the CDI magneto coupler from
the wireharness.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω 100) to the
neutral switch lead.
Positive tester probe

sky blue lead
Negative tester probe

Frame ground
• Shift the transmission in neutral and gear.
• Check the neutral switch for continuity.
Switch Good Bad

:Continuity X: No continuity
• Is the sidestand switch OK?

3. Wiring
• Check the entire ignition system’s wiring.
Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM”.
• Is the ignition system’s wiring properly con-
nected and without defects?
Replace the sides-
tand switch.

Properly connect or
repair the ignition
system’s wiring.
Replace the DC-
CDI unit.
