Rhythm Patterns
The main point when playing this rhythm pattern is the left foot at 4 and 10. Using
the heel-up technique (page 6) can delay the rising of the foot and not allow the hi-
hat to open properly. Make sure you are using the heel-down technique.
Add an accent with the ride cymbal at 4 and 10.
This song uses two basic swing patterns. Swing resembles shuffle, but the
differences can be seen in the score below.
