Periodic maintenance
*1····· Initial replacement of the engine oil is after one month or 20 hours of operation.
*2····· Needs to be cleaned more frequently when using in unusually wet or dusty areas.
····· Since these items require special tools, data and technical skills, have a Yamaha
dealer perform the service.
Fuel tank strainer
• Check for dirt and clog-
ging. Clean if necessary.

• Check for cracks. 
Fuel cock strainer
• Remove the cock, check
for clogging, and clean if
necessary.
Breather hose
• Check for poor connec-
tion.
Cylinder head
• Decarbonize cylinder
head.
Intake/Exhaust valves
• Check and adjust valve
clearance.
Recoil starter
• Check for fine splits and
damage.

Outer covers
• Check outer covers for in-
stallation and damage.

Fittings/fasteners
• Check that bolts are se-
curely fastened. Fasten
them if necessary.

Output voltage
• Check that output indica-
tors are on.

Visual inspection for potential damage 
