The basic function of this system allows the rider to shift gears without the use of a clutch lever. Furthermore, a shift lever is equipped on the handlebar, allowing the rider to choose to shift gears either with the shift pedal or by hand.

The key with the red bow is used to register codes in each standard key. Since re-registering is a difficult process, take the vehicle along with all three keys to a Yamaha dealer to have them re-registered. Do not use the key with the red bow for driving. It should only be used for re-registering the standard keys. Always use a standard key for driving.

The hand shift lever has to be enabled by pressing the hand shift control switch prior to being used. Refer to page 3-17 for the shift pedal operation, and to pages 3-16 and 3-18 for the hand shift lever operation. The gear positions are shown in the illustration.
