BEARING HOUSING
2. Install:
● Intermediate drive shaft
NOTE:
Support the intermediate housing with
steel blocks 1 and press the driven cou-
pling shaft.
3. Install:
● Oil seal 1 [8 mm (0.31 in)]
● Oil seal 2 [10 mm (0.39 in)]
Distance a:
9.5–10.5 mm (0.37–0.41 in)
Distance a:
10.3–10.7 mm (0.41–0.42 in)
Distance b:
1.6–2.0 mm (0.06–0.08 in)
Intermediate housing installation
1. Install:
● Intermediate housing
● Shim
NOTE:
Install the shim(s) to the original position if
the intermediate housing is not replaced.
Installation steps:
● Install the intermediate housing.
● Measure the clearance a at each bolt
hole.
● Install the suitable shim from the table
below.

0–0.2 mm
(0–0.008 in)
No need
0.3–0.7 mm
(0.012–0.028 in)
0.5 mm
0.8–1.2 mm
(0.031–0.047 in)
1.0 mm
1.3–2.0 mm
(0.051–0.079 in)
1.5 mm
