RX-V357/HTR-5830 Among some types of lead free solder currently available, it is recommended to use one of the following types for the repair work. • Sn + Ag + Cu (tin + silver + copper) • Sn + Cu (tin + copper) • Sn + Zn + Bi (tin + zinc + bismuth) Caution: 1. As the melting point temperature of the lead free solder is about 30°C to 40°C (50°F to 70°F) higher than that of the lead solder, be sure to use a soldering iron suitable to each solder. 2.

RX-V357/HTR-5830 • Resetting the factory presets To reset all of parameters, do the following procedure. This procedure completely resets ALL parameters, including the SET MENU, level, assign, and tuner presets. Note: Only the tuner’s frequency step is not reset in this procedure. (R, L models) 1 With the main unit in standby mode, hold down “STEREO (EFFECT)” key and press “STANDBY/ON” key. Then PRESET is displayed. 2 Press “STEREO (EFFECT)” key to select the desired setting.

The FL display of the main unit displays the protection function history data and the version (1 alphabet) and the DIAG menu [sub-menu (ANALOG BYPASS) of DIAG menu No.1 DSP THROUGH] a few seconds later.
RX-V357/HTR-5830 When there is a history of protection function due to abnormal DC output Version (1 alphabet) • Operation procedure of DIAG menu and SUB-MENU There are 15 MENU items, each of which has some SUBMENU items. Cause: DC output of the power amplifier is abnormal. DIAG menu selection Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work 3 seconds later and the power supply will be shut off. Main unit: Select the menu using (Reverse) PROGRAM keys.

RX-V357/HTR-5830 9. FACTORY PRESET This menu is used to reserve and inhibit initialization of the back-up RAM. The signals are processed using EFFECT OFF. (The L/R signal is output using ANALOG FRONT BYPASS.) PRESET INHIBIT (Initialization inhibited) RAM initialization is not executed. Select this sub-menu to protect the values set by the user. The production history is not erased using this sub-menu. PRESET RESERVED (Initialization reserved) Initialization of the back-up RAM is reserved.

AD DATA CHECK/FAN TEST This menu is used to display the A/D conversion value of the terminals which detects panel keys of the main unit and protection functions in % using the sub-menu. During signal processing, the condition before execution is maintained. * The figures in the diagram are given as reference only.
RX-V357/HTR-5830 11. IF STATUS (Input function status) Using the sub-menu, the status data is displayed one after another in the hexadecimal notation. RX-V357/HTR-5830 13. SD DL CODE This menu is used to display the data version of the FLASH ROM, TOC information and sum calculated value for the second decoder. RDV Displays the data version. TA 0-5 Displays the TOC information. SA 0-5 Displays the sum calculated value. 14. SOFT SW This menu is used to switch the function settings on the P.C.B. through the software so as to activate the product. The protection function follows the P.C.B. settings.
RX-V357/HTR-5830 15. MICROPROCESSOR INFORMATION The version, checksum and the port specified by the microprocessor are displayed. The signal is processed using EFFECT OFF. The checksum is obtained by adding the data at every 8 bits for each program area and expressing the result as a 4-figure hexadecimal data.

B. • Right after the power is turned on, confirm that the voltage across the terminals of R157 (FRONT Lch), R158 (FRONT Rch), R148 (CENTER), R156 (SURROUND Lch), R159 (SURROUND Rch) are between 0.1mV and 10.0mV. 0.1mV ~ 10.
