CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL
3. Remove:
• rider seat
Refer to “SEATS AND SIDE COVERS”.
4. Remove:
• dipstick 1
5. Check:
• engine oil level
The engine oil level should be between
the minimum level mark a and maxi-
mum level mark b.
Below the minimum level mark → Add
the recommended engine oil to the
proper level.
NOTE:
• Before checking the engine oil level, wait
a few minutes until the oil has settled.
• Do not screw the dipstick in when insect-
ing the oil level.
ACHTUNG:
CAUTION:
• Engine oil also lubricates the clutch and
the wrong oil types or additives could
cause clutch slippage. Therefore, do not
add any chemical additives.
• Do not allow foreign materials to enter
the crankcase.
NOTE:
API Service “SE”, “SF” and “SG” type or
equivalent (e.g., “SF-SE”, “SF-SE-CC”, “SF-
SE-SD”).
6. Install:
• dipstick
Recommended oil
Yamalube 4 (20W 40) or
SAE 20W40 type SE motor oil
