The Quick Start function lets you start this unit quickly.
Note
When “Quick Start” is set to “Yes”, the BD player requires some
time to turn off.
You can set this unit to automatically turn off after about
10 minutes since playback is stopped.

You can set this unit to receive an HDMI control signal
from the remote control of your TV if it supports the
HDMI control and is connected to this unit via an HDMI
cable.

The HDMI control function may not work during playback or
when the Setup menu is displayed.
You can use this function only when “Video Out Select” is set
to “HDMI”.
Parental Control
Some digital broadcasts and BD/DVD include rating code
to block the display of contents for a certain age group.
You can select a level to block BD/DVD with undesired
ratings from playing back on this unit.
“Playback Setting” provides another option “Country
code”. Because the ratings differ depending on countries,
you also need to set the country code.
To set a level or country code, you must set a 4-digit
password and enter it.
For DVD

Country code
Sets the country code.
See the Country Code List (p.51) because the ratings
differ according to the country.
Disc Language (Disc Priority Language)
You can select the language for subtitles, audio and menus
displayed on the screen.
See “Language list” (p.51) for available languages.
Angle Mark Display
Some BD/DVD videos have multiple angles. When you
watch those videos, you can display an angle mark on the
lower right of the screen.
PIN Code Setting
You can set the password for setting or changing the
Parental Control level.
Notes
When you forget the password, you can reset the current
password using “System Reset” (p.39).
You can change the password if desired.
When setting the PIN code for the first time
1 Press / to select “Yes”, then press
ENTER.
2 Enter a 4-digit number.
3 Enter the same 4-digit number again to
confirm.
4 Press ENTER to exit the PIN code setting
screen.

You can clear the 4-digit number by pressing CLEAR.
You can use another ENTER (
cp.7) on the remote control.
BD Internet Access
You can set access restriction to BD-LIVE contents.
Quick Start
Yes: Enables the Quick Start function.
The QUICK indicator lights up in standby
mode (p.5).
No*: Disables the Quick Start function.
The power consumption in standby mode is
lower.

Level 8 and Off*: Does not restrict playback of DVD.
Level 1-7: Prohibits playback of DVD with
corresponding ratings.
No Limit*: Does not restrict playback of BD.
0-99 year(s): Prohibits playback of BD with corresponding
ratings.
Yes: Displays the angle mark.
No*: Does not display the angle mark.
Yes: Sets the password.
You are prompted to enter the 4-digit number.
No: Does not set a password.
Permit: Permits internet access for all BD-LIVE discs.
Limit*: Permits internet access for BD-LIVE discs
with owner certification only.
Prohibit: Prohibits internet access to all discs.
