About MOTIF-RACK XS Extension “MOTIF-RACK XS Extension” is a set of program plug-ins and project templates developed by Yamaha to enhance the functions of Steinberg DAW software. Simply by installing MOTIF-RACK XS Extension and connecting the MOTIF-RACK XS to your computer, you can take advantage of various features which enable you to link Cubase (the Steinberg DAW) with the MOTIF-RACK XS. This manual covers how to install MOTIF-RACK XS Extension.

For Windows Users Preparing to install Before installing, you will need to properly install the driver software to use MOTIF-RACK XS Extension. Make sure to install the USB-MIDI Driver software when connecting the MOTIF-RACK XS to your computer via a USB cable, or to install the Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver software when connecting the MOTIF-RACK XS to your computer via an IEEE1394 cable. 4 Click [Finish] when “Completed” appears.

For Macintosh Users Installing the software Uninstalling the software Follow the instructions below to install MOTIF-RACK XS Extension. Follow the instructions below to uninstall MOTIF-RACK XS Extension. 1 Select [Library] → [Application Support] → [Steinberg] → [components], then delete the below files. • yamaha_motif-rack_xs.bundle • yamaha_motif-rack_xs_u.bundle NOTE • Before installing the Extensions for Steinberg DAW, make sure to start the computer and log on to the Administrator account.
