Instalar Alimentación Conectar altavoces o auriculares Conecte el cable de alimentación de CA suministrado en el siguiente orden. Instalar Cargar los datos de demostración En las configuraciones predeterminadas de fábrica, el instrumento almacena varias canciones de demostración y patrones, con la numeración que se inicia en Song 01 (canción 01) y Pattern 01 (patrón 01). Sin embargo, puede que desee eliminarlas y grabar sus propios datos o cargar una canción o patrón diferentes desde un dispositivo de almacenamiento USB externo. Para restaurar los datos de demostración originales, siga las instrucciones siguientes.
Funciones básicas Desplazar el cursor Utilice estos cuatro botones para desplazarse por la pantalla y mover el cursor por los diversos parámetros y opciones seleccionables que se muestran en la pantalla. Cuando se selecciona una opción, aparece resaltada (el cursor aparece como un bloque oscuro con caracteres en vídeo inverso). Puede cambiar el valor del elemento (parámetro) en la que está situado el cursor utilizando el dial de datos y los botones [INC/YES] (incrementar, sí) y [DEC/NO] (disminuir, no).
Funciones básicas Asignar nombres (Introducir caracteres) Indica que puede acceder a la lista pulsando el botón [SF6] LIST. Puede asignar cualquier nombre a los datos que ha creado, como voces, interpretaciones, canciones, patrones y archivos almacenados en un dispositivo de almacenamiento USB. Cuando el cursor está situado sobre este parámetro de asignación de nombres, aparece el icono [CHAR] (car) en la esquina inferior derecha de la pantalla LCD.
Modos El MOTIF XF dispone de varios modos de funcionamiento que se pueden seleccionar mediante los nueve botones de modo. Estos modos son: Voice (voz), Performance (interpretación), Song (canción), Pattern (patrón), Mixing (mezcla), Sampling (muestreo) y Master (maestro) Cómo toque el teclado y cree su propia música original depende del modo que seleccione. Si lo que desea es tocar el teclado normalmente, utilice los modos Voice o Performance.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice En la pantalla Voice Play (reproducción de voz) (la pantalla principal del modo Voice (voz)), se puede seleccionar y reproducir una única voz. Las voces de este instrumento se dividen en los dos tipos siguientes: Cada uno de estos bancos incluye voces según el tipo de voz. En la pantalla Voice Play, se puede seleccionar la voz entre varios bancos de voz y reproducirla. NOTA Para obtener más información sobre las voces, consulte “Estructura básica”.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice Utilizar la función Category Search (búsqueda de categorías) Las voces se dividen cómodamente en categorías específicas, independientemente del banco donde estén ubicadas. Las categorías se dividen según el tipo de instrumento o características del sonido. La función Category Search (búsqueda de categorías) le brinda un acceso rápido al sonido que desee. 1 A continuación se muestra una lista de las categorías y las abreviaturas para sus paneles correspondientes.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice Transmitir reproducción de arpegios como datos MIDI Las frases de arpegio se pueden transmitir como datos MIDI mediante la activación de los siguientes parámetros: Arpegio de voz Cambiar el tipo de arpegio Se puede modificar, según se desee, el tipo de arpegio que se asigna a cada uno de los botones [SF1] – [SF5].
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice Utilizar los controladores MOTIF XF le ofrece una gran variedad de opciones de control. Además de venir equipado con las ruedas normales de inflexión del tono y de modulación, este instrumento también incluye una amplia gama de potenciómetros, mandos deslizantes, controladores de cinta y botones de función asignable especiales.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice 3 Pulse varias veces el botón [SELECTED PART CONTROL] para que se encienda el indicador luminoso TONE 2 (tono 2) y, a continuación, gire el potenciómetro (completamente hacia la derecha). El valor de CHORUS (coro), que aparece impreso encima del potenciómetro, se aplica a la voz actual. Edición de voces La “edición” hace referencia al proceso de creación de una voz cambiando los parámetros que la componen.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Voice Mejorar el sonido con efectos Este instrumento incluye una amplia variedad de efectos que le permiten agregar procesamiento de reverberación y coro a la voz seleccionada para su interpretación al teclado. Sólo tiene que cambiar el tipo de efecto aplicado a la voz predefinida, y podrá conseguir inmediatamente sonidos distintos.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Performance En el modo Performance Play (reproducción de interpretación), al igual que en el modo Voice Play (reproducción de voz), se pueden seleccionar y reproducir sonidos de instrumentos del sintetizador. Sin embargo, en el modo Performance (interpretación) puede mezclar varias voces diferentes en una misma capa, distribuirlas a lo largo del teclado o, incluso, realizar una combinación de capa y división. Cada interpretación puede contener hasta cuatro partes diferentes.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Performance ataque lenta. Cuando toque a una velocidad media, se activarán los sonidos de cuerda con una velocidad de ataque rápida. Cuando toque la nota a una velocidad rápida, se activarán los golpes de orquesta.
Tocar el teclado en el modo Performance 3 Mueva el cursor hasta NOTE LIMIT LO (límite de notas graves) de la parte 2. 4 Defina la nota más baja de los sonidos de cuerda con una parte 2 pulsando la tecla correspondiente mientras mantiene pulsado el botón [SF6] KBD. La ilustración del teclado indica en un color el intervalo de notas especificadas. 5 Toque el teclado.
Grabar en el modo Performance Es posible que mientras experimente y pruebe los arpegios en el modo Performance (interpretación), se encuentre con patrones de ritmos y frases que le gusten, y desee memorizarlos para utilizarlos más adelante. El modo más sencillo y eficaz para realizar la captura es grabar su interpretación en el teclado en una canción o patrón.
Grabar en el modo Performance 7 2 Número de patrón Después de la grabación, pulse el botón [SONG] (canción) para seleccionar el modo Song Play (reproducción de canción) y, a continuación, reproduzca la canción grabada. Seleccione un número de patrón de destino. Cuando se realice la grabación de la interpretación se sobrescribirán y se borrarán todos los datos previamente grabados del patrón seleccionado. Compruebe que selecciona un patrón sin datos.
Grabación/reproducción de audio Con la función Audio Record / Play (grabar/reproducir audio), ya puede grabar sus interpretaciones en MOTIF XF como archivos de audio con formato WAV (44,1 kHz, 16 bits, estéreo) en un dispositivo de almacenamiento USB o un ordenador conectado a través de una red. Además, ahora MOTIF XF puede reproducir archivos de audio WAV o AIFF almacenados en un dispositivo USB conectado o en un ordenador.
Grabación/reproducción de audio 9 Toque el teclado. Si define el nivel de disparo en un valor entre 1 y 127, las grabaciones empezarán automáticamente cuando el volumen de reproducción supere ese nivel; además, en ese momento el estado en pantalla cambiará de “WAITING” a “RECORDING”. Si desea incluir la canción o el patrón seleccionado en la grabación, pulse el botón SEQ TRANSPORT (transferencia de secuencia) [R] (Reproducir) en cualquier momento para empezar la reproducción.
Uso como teclado maestro (modo Master) El modo Master (maestro) permite: • Crear y memorizar hasta 128 programas, cada uno de los cuales contiene una voz, una interpretación, una canción o un patrón, y se puede activar de forma inmediata para su uso. • Asignar hasta ocho zonas independientes en cada programa maestro para su uso como un teclado maestro.
Uso como teclado maestro (modo Master) 7 Pulse el botón numérico [1] para acceder a la edición de zona. 8 Establezca los parámetros para Zone 1 (zona 1) en cada una de las pantallas [F1] – [F5]. 9 Pulse uno de los botones [2] – [8] y establezca los parámetros para Zone 2 – 8 (zona 2 – 8) en cada una de las pantallas [F1] – [F5]. 10 Una vez ajustados todos los parámetros, pulse el botón [STORE] para memorizar la configuración como un programa maestro.
Crear una canción original Ahora que ha aprendido algunas de las características básicas de MOTIF XF (seleccionar voces e interpretaciones, interpretar con arpegios y grabar su interpretación y reproducción de arpegios en una canción o patrón), ya está en disposición de crear su propia canción. MOTIF XF incluye un secuenciador multipistas para realizar grabaciones de sus interpretaciones en el teclado como datos MIDI.
Crear una canción original 3 Ajustar el volumen de cada parte Puede ajustar el volumen de cada una de las ocho partes utilizando los mandos deslizantes de los paneles. Establezca los parámetros siguientes en la pantalla Record Setup. 3-1 Con el indicador luminoso de [TRACK] encendido, pulse el botón numérico [1] para asignar la grabación a la pista 1. El símbolo del círculo rojo se mostrará en la columna REC TR (pista de grabación) de la pista 1.
Crear una canción original 2 Pulse el botón [ARPEGGIO ON/OFF] (arpegio activado/desactivado) para que se encienda el indicador. 8 Una vez finalizada la configuración de la grabación, pulse el botón [R] (Reproducción) para iniciar la grabación. Pulse el botón [R] (Reproducción) para que parpadee su indicador luminoso y, de esta forma, se iniciará la grabación, una vez transcurrida la cuenta de introducción. 9 3 4 Pulse el botón [] (Grabación) para seleccionar el modo Song Record.
Crear una canción original NOTA A cada tecla le corresponde el nombre de una nota. Por ejemplo, la nota más grave del teclado (la que está situada más a la izquierda) corresponde a C1 (Do1), y la más aguda (la que está situada más a la derecha) a C6 (Do6). Consulte la página 10. NOTA Los parámetros MEAS (compás), BEAT y CLOCK sirven para indicar la posición dentro de la canción donde se realiza la edición o la inserción de un evento.
Crear un patrón original Los patrones de MOTIF XF incluyen partes instrumentales breves pero completas, que puede repetir (en bucle), combinar y arreglar en el orden que desee, lo que le proporciona el material básico para crear una canción. En esta sección se describe todo lo que se puede hacer en el modo Pattern. Estructura de un patrón Con MOTIF XF puede crear una canción de dos formas: en el modo Song o en el modo Pattern.
Crear un patrón original Ver la pantalla Patch del patrón de demostración Crear un patrón con la función Arpeggio En la pantalla Patch, accediendo con el botón [F4], puede confirmar qué frase se asigna a cada pista en Pattern Section (sección de patrones). Una frase es un breve pasaje rítmico o musical compuesto de una sola pista para un solo instrumento, como una batería, un bajo o una guitarra.
Crear un patrón original 6 Ajuste los parámetros siguientes como se especifica en la pantalla Arpeggio Record (grabación de arpegio). 6-1 Establezca el parámetro Switch (cambiar) en “on” (activado). 6-2 Establezca el parámetro Voice with ARP (voz con arpegio) en “on”. Cuando este parámetro está definido como “on”, una voz que coincida con el tipo de arpegio seleccionado se activará de forma automática cada vez que se cambie el tipo de arpegio.
Crear un patrón original 5 Pulse el botón [SF4] Insert (insertar) para acceder a la ventana Insert Event (insertar evento) y asignar la Sección A al primer tiempo del primer compás. 9 Asigne el indicador “end” (final) al 14º compás.
Crear un patrón original Convertir una cadena de patrones en una canción Siguiendo con las instrucciones anteriores, en esta sección se describe cómo convertir la cadena de patrones creada en datos de canción. Esta operación es necesaria porque los datos de la cadena de patrones no incluyen eventos de notas sino únicamente información sobre cambios de sección, lo que significa que no puede añadir una parte de melodía a este acompañamiento.
Ajustes del generador de tonos multitímbrico para reproducción de canciones o patrones (modo Mixing) Una mezcla hace referencia a los ajustes del generador de tonos multitímbrico en la reproducción de una canción o un patrón. Una mezcla está compuesta de 16 partes, que corresponden a las pistas, y en la pantalla Mixing (mezcla) se pueden ajustar varios parámetros relacionados con la mezcla para cada parte.
Utilizar la función Sampling MOTIF XF incluye una eficaz función de muestreo que le permite grabar señales de audio (p. ej., voces desde un micrófono o una guitarra eléctrica) e integrar las muestras resultantes con las voces e interpretaciones del instrumento. El modo Sampling (muestreo) le permite grabar sonidos (p. ej., voces desde un micrófono conectado, la señal de una guitarra eléctrica o el audio desde un reproductor de CD o MP3 externo) directamente en el instrumento y memorizarlos como muestras. 1.
Utilizar la función Sampling Muestreo en el modo Voice/ Performance Cuando selecciona el modo Sampling desde el modo Voice (voz) o Performance (interpretación), puede crear muestras originales, editarlas y asignarlas a una forma de onda y, a continuación, asignar la forma de onda original a una voz de usuario. Además, en el modo Performance, la voz de usuario se puede asignar a una parte de una interpretación.
Utilizar la función Sampling 11 12 Pulse el botón [F6] Stop (detener) para detener el muestreo. Procedimiento de edición del muestreo • Si define la función Confirm como “on” en el paso 8 anterior, se mostrará la pantalla Sampling Finished (finalizado el muestreo). Pulse el botón [SF1] Audition (audición) para escuchar la muestra. Si le satisfacen los resultados, pulse el botón [ENTER] (entrar) para memorizar el sonido muestreado como “Sample” y vuelva a la pantalla Setup.
Utilizar la función Sampling Muestreo en el modo Pattern 7 Además de poder utilizar el modo Sampling en los modos Voice y Performance, también se puede usar en los modos Song (canción) y Pattern (patrón). Este modo le permite grabar audio (p. ej., voces, guitarra eléctrica o audio desde un dispositivo externo) y utilizarlo como una voz de muestra directamente en una pista de una canción o de un patrón.
Utilizar la función Sampling 13 Pulse el botón [SF2] una o dos veces para que se muestre la indicación LP=ST. 14 Mueva el cursor hasta End Point y ajuste el valor con el dial de datos. Pulse el botón [SF1] para escuchar la muestra. Ajuste el punto final de forma que la muestra se reproduzca de forma suave y continua, sin saltos, errores ni problemas de sincronización. 15 Una vez ajustado el punto final, pulse el botón [ENTER] para borrar los datos innecesarios (situados después del punto final).
Utilizar la función Sampling Muestreo de un sonido simple en el modo Song MOTIF XF le permite muestrear material de audio cómodamente, incluso mientras se reproduce una canción. Esto le permite “incluir” muestras rápida y fácilmente en la canción a medida que las necesite; por ejemplo, capturando efectos de sonido cortos desde un CD o grabando frases vocales de acompañamiento con un micrófono. Los sonidos de este tipo se pueden añadir a la canción en caso deseado.
Utilizar la función Sampling Guardar una forma de onda en el módulo de expansión de la memoria flash En esta sección se explica cómo guardar una forma de onda (a la que se ha asignado la muestra mediante la función Sampling) en el módulo de expansión de la memoria flash opcional (página 76). 1 En el modo Sampling, pulse el botón [JOB] (trabajo) para seleccionar el modo Sampling Job (trabajo de muestreo). 2 Pulse el botón [F3] Other (otros).
Realizar ajustes generales del sistema (modo Utility) En el modo Utility (utilidad) es posible configurar parámetros que se aplican a todo el sistema del instrumento. Para seleccionar el modo Utility, pulse el botón [UTILITY] (utilidad). Pulse el botón [EXIT] (salir) para volver a la pantalla original. Esta sección describe algunas prácticas funciones del modo Utility.
Realizar ajustes generales del sistema (modo Utility) Cambiar el tipo de diseño en la pantalla principal para cada modo Puede cambiar el tipo de diseño en la pantalla principal para cada modo Voice, Performance y Master Play. Si mantiene pulsado el botón [EXIT] y pulsa el botón de cursor [<] se establecerá Type como “1”; en cambio, si mantiene pulsado el botón [EXIT] y pulsa el botón de cursor [>] se establecerá Type como “2”.
Usar un ordenador conectado La conexión de MOTIF XF a un ordenador mediante USB o IEEE1394 le permite utilizar una aplicación DAW o un software de secuencia en el ordenador para crear sus propias canciones. Esta sección incluye una descripción general sobre la utilización de una aplicación DAW o de software de secuencia en el ordenador conectado con MOTIF XF.
Usar un ordenador conectado Canales MIDI y puertos MIDI Los datos MIDI se asignan a uno de los 16 canales, y el sintetizador puede reproducir simultáneamente 16 partes independientes a través de dichos 16 canales MIDI. Sin embargo, el límite de 16 canales puede superarse mediante puertos MIDI independientes, cada uno de los cuales admite a su vez 16 canales.
Usar un ordenador conectado Flujo de señal de audio y datos MIDI a través del cable IEEE1394 Pulse el botón [UTILITY] para seleccionar el modo Utility y, a continuación, pulse el botón [F5] seguido del botón [SF2] para acceder a la pantalla MIDI. Defina el parámetro MIDI In/Out en “FW”. Se muestra la pantalla REMOTE (como las que se ilustran a continuación) y los controles del panel (como los botones, los potenciómetros y los diales de datos) se habilitan para realizar operaciones de control remoto desde el software del ordenador (sus funciones normales se deshabilitan).
Guardar y cargar datos en el modo File En el modo File (archivo), puede guardar y cargar datos tales como voces, interpretaciones, canciones, patrones y formas de onda creados en este instrumento. Para acceder al modo File, pulse el botón [FILE] (archivo). En esta sección se explica cómo guardar y cargar todos los datos en la memoria de usuario del instrumento como un archivo “All” (todos) (extensión: X3A).
Guardar y cargar datos en el modo File Dispositivos de almacenamiento USB Ejemplos de conexión Dispositivo de almacenamiento USB, como una unidad de disco duro Memoria flash USB o Conector USB TO DEVICE Avisos al utilizar el terminal USB TO DEVICE Tenga en cuenta los puntos siguientes: No apague ni encienda nunca el dispositivo USB, ni enchufe o desenchufe el cable USB cuando el dispositivo de almacenamiento USB conectado tenga su propia fuente de alimentación.
Mensajes de pantalla Indicación en la pantalla LCD 66 Descripción Are you sure? (¿Está seguro?) Pide que confirme si desea ejecutar una determinada operación. Arpeggio memory full. (Memoria de arpegio llena.) La memoria interna de los datos de arpegio está llena, lo que impide la memorización de los datos de la secuencia grabada como un arpegio. Bad disk or memory. (Memoria o disco erróneo.) El dispositivo de almacenamiento externo conectado a este sintetizador no se puede utilizar.
Mensajes de pantalla Indicación en la pantalla LCD Descripción Now collecting the information of the network... (Recopilando la información de la red…) Este mensaje aparece mientras se obtiene la información de la red. Now executing Factory set... (Ejecutando el ajuste de fábrica…) Indica que este sintetizador está restaurando los ajustes programados de fábrica.
Solución de problemas No hay sonido. ¿El sonido no es el que debería? Cuando se produce un problema como éste, compruebe lo siguiente antes de suponer que el producto es defectuoso. Puede que resuelva el problema ejecutando la función Factory Set (ajustes de fábrica) (página 18) después de realizar una copia de seguridad de sus datos en un dispositivo de almacenamiento externo. Si el problema persiste, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor de Yamaha. No hay sonido.
Solución de problemas Cuando el elemento al que está asignado “Key Off Sound” (sonido al soltar las teclas) en el parámetro XA Control no suena, ¿está soltando la nota después de que disminuya el AEG? El elemento “Key Off Sound” prevalecerá sobre el nivel del AEG del elemento anterior si ambos elementos pertenecen al mismo grupo.
Solución de problemas ¿Son adecuados los ajustes de filtro? Los ajustes de resonancia de filtro excesivamente altos pueden causar distorsión.
Solución de problemas Si esto ocurre en el modo Performance, Song o Pattern, compruebe si los parámetros de Insertion Switch (INS SW) están ajustados correctamente.
Solución de problemas La canción o el patrón (frase) no se puede grabar. ¿Hay memoria suficiente para grabar? Compruebe la cantidad de memoria del secuenciador disponible en la ventana Song Information (información de canción) (a la que se accede mediante [SONG] → [F2] → [SF6]) o en la ventana Pattern Information (información de patrón) (a la que se accede mediante [PATTERN] → [F2] → [SF6]).
Solución de problemas La conexión de red no funciona. Si ha olvidado la contraseña para acceder a MOTIF XF, ejecute el trabajo Factory Set y vuelva a establecerla. [UTILITY] → [F1] General → [SF3] Network (red) → [SF5] Password (contraseña) Cuando el servidor DHCP está conectado a la red y el parámetro DHCP Client (cliente DHCP) se define como “on”, no es necesario establecer la dirección IP porque se configura automáticamente.
Instalar hardware opcional Dispositivos disponibles Precauciones durante la instalación Los dispositivos siguientes se pueden instalar en MOTIF XF. Antes de instalar el hardware opcional, asegúrese de que dispone de un destornillador con punta de estrella (Phillips) y de suficiente espacio para trabajar.
Instalar hardware opcional FW16E 4 1 Apague MOTIF XF y desconecte el cable de alimentación de CA. Además, asegúrese de desconectar MOTIF XF de cualquier dispositivo externo conectado. 2 Quite la cubierta de FW16E del panel posterior. Coloque la tapa con los dos tornillos que extrajo en el paso nº 2. Con el panel posterior de este sintetizador hacia arriba, quite los dos tornillos de la cubierta. Importante Guarde los tornillos en un lugar seguro. Se utilizarán al instalar FW16E.
Instalar hardware opcional FL512M/FL1024M 3 Quite la cubierta de la parte inferior. Con el panel posterior del MOTIF XF hacia arriba, quite los tornillos de la cubierta con un destornillador de punta de estrella. Después, tire de la cubierta para quitarla. Configuración Hay disponibles dos tipos del módulo de expansión de la memoria flash: Importante FL512M Guarde los tornillos en un lugar seguro. Se usarán cuando vuelva a instalar la cubierta en el instrumento después de la instalación.
Instalar hardware opcional NOTA Si el FL512M/FL1024M está bien instalado aparece 4-1 Inserte el módulo verticalmente en la ranura y oriente los “Unformatted” (sin formato) en la pantalla, a la derecha del número de ranura, y si no es así aparece “Unmounted” (sin montar). Si a pesar de haber instalado el módulo aparece “Unmounted”, ejecute de nuevo las instrucciones desde el paso 1 y compruebe si el modulo se ha instalado correctamente. tornillos (del módulo) hacia las tuercas respectivas.
