Cursor page
n The Song Position Bar may not synchronize with the actual
playback position during Scrub playback.
Parameters to be edited may differ depending on the
assigned Effect and Software Tone Generator.
Some parameters may not be available depending on the
selected Effect Type.
The [M2] – [M4] buttons correspond respectively to the
[EDIT], [JOB], and [STORE] buttons.
Additional operations other than those listed above are
available. For details, refer to the relevant documentation of
DAW remote control you are using.
•You can find the Help window by selecting “Mackie Control”
from the Tool Menu on SONAR and pressing the [F1] button.
Please keep in mind that some functions may not be
available.
When controlling Digital Performer 5.1
A specific function has been assigned to each page. Use
the [SELECTED PART CONTROL] and [MULTI PART
CONTROL] button to select the desired page.
Assignment page
PAN mode
[F2] Pan (or [F1] I/O Knob 1 [ENTER])
SndVal mode (for Audio track)
[SF1] Sends (or [F1] I/O Knob 2 [ENTER])
SndPan mode (for Audio track)
[F1] I/O Knob 3 [ENTER]
[F6] M1 + [F2] Loop Opens the Loop/Audio Shuttle dialog.
[F3] Select Turns the mode in which you can set From/
Thru time on or off.
[F6] M1 + [F3] Select Turns the function that selects the data in the
selected channel on or off.
[F4] Punch Turns the mode in which you can set Punch
In/Out on or off.
[F6] M1 + [F4] Punch Opens the Record Options dialog.
[EDIT] M2 + [F4]
Punch
Sets Punch In/Out Record to on, then sets
Punch In/Out position to the top of the song.
[F6] M1 + [G] In modes for which Loop position can be set
(From/Thru time, or Punch In/Out), this sets
the start position to the current position.
Otherwise, this sets the current position to
the top of the song.
[F6] M1 + [H] In modes for which Loop position can be set
(From/Thru time, or Punch In/Out), this sets
the end position to the current position.
Otherwise, this sets the current position to
the end of the song.
[SF1] Jog PRM Turns Data Entry on and off. When turned on
(the lamp lights), rotating the dial has the
Data Entry function.
[SF2] Loop On Sets Loop to on or off.
[SF3] Home Moves the song position to the top of the
song.

Moves the cursor in the LCD of the MOTIF
XS.
[F3] Zoom Turns Zoom on or off.
[F4] E Bank

Scrolls through the track indication on the
LCD of the MOTIF XS every eight channels.
[SF3] Scrub Turns Scrub on or off. When Scrub is on, the
dial can be used for Scrub playback. When
Scrub is off, the dial is used to move the song
position.

[F1] I/O Calls up the Mode List display.
[F4] E Bank

Scrolls through the track indication on the LCD of
the MOTIF XS every eight channels.
Buttons/Knobs Functions
Knobs 1 – 8 For editing parameters (such as
Pan).
[SF3] + [ENTER] (with the
cursor on any channel.)
Resets the parameter value to the
default.
Call up the Fader Banks page,
then press [SF1] Flip
Exchanges the functions between
the Channel Knobs and the
Faders.
[F2] Pan in the PAN mode Alternately hides/shows the Level
Meter.
