Modo de empleo de este manual Posiblemente usted tendrá muchas ganas de probar su nuevo generador de tonos MU5 para ver de lo que es capaz, en lugar de leer todas estas instrucciones antes de poder sacarle un sonido.

Frote con un paño suave y seco. Si es necesario, emplee un paño suave y limpio un poco humedecido, asegurándose de frotar después con un paño seco.

El MU5 - Qué es y qué es lo que puede hacer El MU5 - Qué es y qué es lo que puede hacer ■ Qué es ... El MU5 es un generador de tonos de fácil utilización compacto y muy portátil. Incorpora la compatibilidad MIDI general de nivel 1 completa con 128 voces MIDI general y 8 juegos de batería. El MU5 tiene polifonía de 28 voces y timbres múltiples de 16 partes. En otras palabras, el MU5 tiene 16 partes distintas, cada una con su propia voz,de modo que pueden sonar simultáneamente hasta 16 voces distintas.
■ Qué es lo que puede hacer ... A continuación daremos algunas ideas de la utilización del MU5. La lista de abajo no es una lista completa, sino que sirve como guía general a las posibilidades y proporciona un punto de inicio o trampolín para sus propias exploraciones e ideas creativas. ● Empleo con un teclado IDI Emplee el MU5 como generador de tonos suplementario con su teclado MIDI e interprete las voces de ambos instrumentos en un estrato conjuntamente.
El MU5 - Qué es y qué es lo que puede hacer ● Toque con él Lléveselo al escenario,siempre y cuando haya un teclado MIDI, y podrá usar los sonidos de alta calidad del MU5 en su interpretación. ● Multimedios de comunicación Puesto que es portátil y compatible con MIDI general, el MU5 es perfecto para aplicaciones de multimedios de comunicación.
Ajuste del MU5 ■ Alimentación El MU5 funciona con el adaptador de CA opcional o con pilas. Siga las instrucciones siguientes de acuerdo con la fuente de alimentación que se proponga utilizar. NOTA Antes de realizar ninguna conexión, asegúrese de que todos los equipos a conectarse estén desconectados. ● Empleo de un adaptador de alimentación Conecte el extremo del adaptador de alimentación (Yamaha PA-3, PA-4 o PA-40) a la toma DC IN del panel posterior, y el otro extremo a una toma de corriente adecuada.
Ajuste del MU5 ● Funcionamiento con pilas Para utilizar el MU5 con alimentación de pilas, inserte seis pilas manganesas o alcalinas de 1,5 V del tamaño AA (SUM-3, R-6 o equivalentes) en el compartimiento de las pilas. Asegúrese de respetar las indicaciones de las polaridades de la caja inferior (como se muestra abajo). Vuelva a colocar bien la cubierta del compartimiento de las pilas cuando haya terminado de instalar las pilas.
■ Conexiones de audio Para poder oír el MU5 deberá realizar ciertas conexiones de audio. Podrá escuchar el MU5 usando unos auriculares estereofónicos o conectándolo a un sistema de amplificador/altavoces. ● Empleo de auriculares Conecte unos auriculares estereofónicos (con miniclavija estéreo) a la toma LINE OUT/PHONES.
Ajuste del MU5 dentro de su sistema musical Ajuste del MU5 dentro de su sistema musical Como ya ha aprendido en la sección de “El MU5 - Qué es y qué es lo que puede hacer”, en la página 11, el MU5 puede integrarse en una amplia variedad de sistemas. Sería imposible abarcar todas las posibilidades de conexión en un manual corto como éste, sin embargo, la sección siguiente le ayudará a preparar con rapidez el MU5 para emplearlo dentro de su sistema.
Macintosh Siga estas instrucciones si tiene una Apple Macintosh que no esté equipada de interfaz MIDI exterior. Conecte el terminal TO HOST del MU5 al acceso de modem o de impresora del Macintosh. TO HOST Operación 1 DC IN POWER ON OFF Ponga el selector HOST SELECT en MAC. HOST SELECT MIDI PC-2 PC-1 Mac 2 3 4 Conecte el MU5 a la computadora de control, como se muestra arriba. Le mostrará las voces de alta calidad y el sistema de generación de tonos AWM del MU5. Operación 1 Mantenga presionados simultáneamente los botones y presione el botón .
Empleo del MU5 - Modo de interpretación e Ahora que usted conoce las sofisticadas posibilidades del MU5, pruebe la interpretación de algunas de ellas en el modo de interpretación. Cuando conecte la alimentación del MU5 o presione el botón , el modo de interpretación se ajusta automáticamente. En este modo, podrá seleccionar cualquiera de las 16 partes para la interpretación, y podrá seleccionar la voz que deberá reproducirse en cada parte.
Empleo del MU5 - Modo de interpretación La velocidad del teclado es fija; en otras palabras, cada nota que usted toca suena a un volumen predeterminado. Podrá cambiar este ajuste de velocidad desde el parámetro de velocidad (Velocity) en el modo de utilidad. (Si se indica Part 1 en el visualizador, presione simplemente una vez el botón .) PART PART PGM # VOICE NAME Indica la parte seleccionada. _ Hay disponibles un total de 16 partes, y cada una se muestra en el visualizador., 2 Emplee los botones para seleccionar el número de programa 12, “Vibes”.
Empleo del MU5 - Modo de interpretación ■ Empleo de las teclas de números para selec- cionar la voz En el modo de interpretación, podrá también emplear las teclas de los números para seleccionar un número de programa de voz. s Para ello, mantenga presionados simultáneamente los botones y presione el número del valor que desee ajustar.
Empleo del MU5 a través de una computadora o secuenciador Conectando el MU5 a una computadora o secuenciador, dispondrá de un potente sistema musical para interpretar canciones e incluso para crear sus propias canciones, usando las voces del MU5. Asegúrese de que el MU5 esté correctamente conectado a la computadora o secuenciador, y que su programa musical de computadora estén preparado para su ejecución. (Consulte la páginas 17–21 para ver los ejemplos de conexión y las instrucciones.
Empleo del MU5 a través de una computadora o secuenciador / Empleo del MU5 con un dispositivo de almacenamiento de datos MIDI / Silenciamiento y partes de solo Silenciamiento y partes de solo Mientras se interpreta una canción en su computadora o secuenciador, podrá seleccionar el silenciamiento o un solo de cualquiera de las 16 partes del MU5. El silenciamiento le permite silenciar una parte para escuchar cómo suenan todas las otras partes sin la parte silenciada.
Edition Edición Las características de edición del MU5 proporcionan varios controles para cambiar las partes y para ajustar otras funciones de operación importantes. Entre otras cosas, podrá ajustar el volumen o tono de cada partes independientemente, cambiar la velocidad del teclado incorporado, y almacenar todas sus ediciones en una computadora, en un secuenciador o dispositivo de almacenamiento de datos conectados. El MU5 tiene dos modos de edición; Utilidad y edición de partes.

Por ejemplo, para ajustar un valor de 47, mantenga presionados simultáneamente los botones y presione y luego ,y finalmente presione el botón para introducir definitivamente el nuevo valor.

Apéndice Localización y reparación de averías Aunque el MU5 es muy fácil de utilizar, es posible que algunas veces no funcione como es de esperar. Si así le sucede, compruebe los problemas posibles y sus soluciones antes de asumir que el instrumento está averiado.
