Principle of Operation
How Acoustic Echo and Noise are Reduced
Acoustic echo occurs in a teleconferencing system when the sound from a speaker or
reflections from surfaces of the room are picked up by a microphone and transmitted to the
other party, resulting in a loss of intelligibility. Projectors and air conditioning systems also
produce noise that can interfere with clear teleconferencing. The echo cancelling and noise
reduction capabilities of the MY4-AEC help to achieve maximum clarity and intelligibility for
smooth, effective communication.
NOTE
In order to reduce acoustic echo originating from the remote location, an echo canceller must be
installed and active at the remote location.
