by your guitar, please read this manual carefully before using the instrument.
NOMENCLATURE/THE CONTROLS
The built-in preamplifier is automatically turned ON when a guitar cable is
connected to the output jack.

Adjusts the overall output volume level.

3 Band Equalizer
LOW : Boosts or cuts the level of the low frequencies.

BASS : Controls the volume of the bass side pickup.

Using the Sound Hall Cover
If feedback occurs when playing at high volumes, the Sound Hole Cover should be inserted into the
sound hole. When inserted into the sound hole, Sound Hole Cover effectively reduces feedback.

PRECAUTIONS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING
Please keep this manual in a safe and handy place for future reference.
WARNING
Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of serious injury
or even death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, fire or other hazards.
These precautions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Do not open
This instrument contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the instrument or at-
tempt to disassemble or modify the internal components in any way. If it should appear
to be malfunctioning, discontinue use immediately and have it inspected by qualified
Yamaha service personnel.
Water warning
Do not expose the instrument to rain, use it near water or in damp or wet conditions, place it on
any containers (such as vases, bottles, or glasses) containing liquids that might spill into any
openings. If any liquid such as water seeps into the instrument, turn off the power immediately
and have the instrument inspected by qualified Yamaha service personnel.
If you notice any abnormality
When one of the following problems occur, immediately turn off the power and remove all bat-
teries from the instrument, then have the instrument inspected by Yamaha service personnel.
- It emits unusual smells or smoke.
- Some object has been dropped into the instrument.
- There is a sudden loss of sound during use of the instrument.
CAUTION
Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of physical
injury to you or others, or damage to the instrument or other property. These precautions
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Connection
Before connecting the instrument to other electronic components, turn off the power for all compo-
nents. Before turning the power on or off for all components, set all volume levels to minimum.
Be sure to set the volumes of all components at their minimum levels and gradually raise
the volume controls while playing the instrument to set the desired listening level.
Location
Do not place the instrument in an unstable position where it might accidentally fall over.
Handling caution
Do not rest your weight on, or place heavy objects on the instrument, and do not use
excessive force on the buttons, switches or connectors.
Do not use the instrument/device or headphones for a long period of time at a high or
uncomfortable volume level, since this can cause permanent hearing loss. If you experi-
ence any hearing loss or ringing in the ears, consult a physician.
* Yamaha cannot be held responsible for damage caused by improper use or modifi-
cations to the instrument, or data that is lost or destroyed.
* Information on the battery can be found in the section at the end of this sheet.
* Please read the instruction manual for the external audio device such as a guitar
amplifier, etc., prior to use.
USING THE TUNER
The guitar is equipped with an A4=440Hz standard pitch tuner. The tuner’s circuitry is inde-
pendent from the guitar’s output circuit so switching the tuner ON/OFF will have no affect
on sound output.

Press the TUNER switch, with or without the cable connected, the and lamps will
flash simultaneously and the tuner is switched ON.

Tune the guitar string until the note name of the desired pitch appears in the tuner’s display.
The
lamp indicates the pitch is low. The lamp indicates the pitch is high.
The pitch indicator ( ) flashes slower as the string’s pitch nears the note shown in the display.

Press the TUNER switch again to switch the tuner OFF.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
In order to avoid reduced sound quality, replace the battery as soon as possible when the
battery check indicator lights.

Press the release lever on the battery holder in the direction indicated by the arrow in the
illustration in order to unlock it.

Slide out the battery case.
e
Remove the old battery from the battery case, and insert the new battery making sure that
the (+) and (–) terminals of the battery are positioned as shown in the illustration. Use only
a DC9V, S-006P (6F22, 6LR61) or equivalent battery.

Slide the battery case back into the battery holder and press firmly so that the battery
case locks into place.
