Lorsque vous jouez les accords de votre choix de la main gauche, le PSR-172/170 produit automatiquement un fond approprié : basse, accord, rythme. Utilisez votre main droite pour jouer des mélodies.
Étape 3 Accompagnement automatique Apprentissage des accords à l'aide de la fonction Dictionary La fonction Dictionary a pour objectif de vous apprendre à jouer des accords en vous montrant les notes une à une. Étape 4 Leçon Leçon 1 — Timing Grade Cette étape vous permet de travailler sur la synchronisation des notes. Dans la leçon 1, l'important n'est pas dans les notes jouées individuellement. Le PSR-172/170 contrôle la synchronisation et la rigueur de votre jeu sur le plan rythmique. Le clavier PSR-172/170 dispose d'une fonction d'évaluation intégrée qui contrôle votre jeu et attribue une note à vos exercices, comme le ferait un professeur.
Mise en route — Reproduction de morceaux de démonstration Le PSR-172/170 propose divers morceaux de démonstration, enregistrés spécialement pour offrir un échantillon des sons et des rythmes dynamiques et vous donner une idée de ce que vous pouvez faire grâce à l'instrument. 1 Tout d'abord, mettez l'appareil sous tension. Réglez le sélecteur [STANDBY/ON] sur ON. 2 Réglez le volume. Tournez d'abord la commande [MASTER VOLUME] d'environ un tiers vers le haut.
Indications de l'afficheur Le PSR-172/170 est doté d'un grand afficheur multifonctions qui présente tous les réglages importants de l'instrument. La section qui suit décrit brièvement les différentes icônes et autres indications apparaissant sur l'afficheur.
Portable Grand Cette fonction vous permet d'appeler instantanément la voix Grand Piano. Pour jouer du Portable Grand Appuyez sur la touche [PORTABLE GRAND] en forme de piano. Cette commande annule automatiquement tout autre mode ou fonction sélectionnés et réinitialise l'instrument dans sa totalité pour qu'il puisse reproduire la voix spéciale Grand Piano « sonorité de piano à queue échantillonnée en stéréo ».
Portable Grand 3 Activez la fonction Metronome. Appuyez sur la touche [METRONOME]. 1 Indique le nombre de temps dans le tempo/mesure. Appuyez encore une fois sur cette touche pour désactiver le métronome. Reproduction de morceaux DJ 1 Appuyez sur la touche [DJ]. 098 DJvoice1 001 Ceci réinitialise automatiquement l'instrument dans sa totalité pour jouer le morceau et la voix DJ spécialement programmés. 2 Activez la fonction Lesson et sélectionnez une étape. Les étapes 1 à 3 de Lesson peuvent être utilisées avec la reproduction DJ.
Sélection et reproduction de voix Le PSR-172/170 propose 100 voix authentiques qui ont toutes été créées grâce au système sophistiqué de génération de son AWM (Advanced Wave Memory = mémoire d'onde avancée) de Yamaha. Beaucoup de ces voix disposent de caractéristiques ou d'embellissements spéciaux prédéfinis. Les voix sont réparties en différentes catégories, en fonction de leurs caractéristiques ou des effets utilisés. Sélection et reproduction d'une voix 1 Appuyez sur la touche [VOICE].
Sélection et reproduction de voix ■ Utilisation du pavé numérique Composez le numéro de la voix tel qu'il est imprimé sur la console. Par exemple, pour choisir la voix n˚ 042, appuyez sur la touche « 0 » du pavé numérique puis sur les touches « 4 » et « 2 ». Lorsque les numéros commencent par des zéros (tels que 042 ou 006), ces derniers ne doivent pas être pris en compte. Dans ce cas, il y a une brève pause avant l'apparition de l'indication. 042 Fr.
Sélection et reproduction de voix Les voix Harmony (n˚ 059 à 068) ajoutent automatiquement une harmonie d'une, deux ou trois notes à la voix d'origine. Les voix Split (partagées) (n˚ 069 à 073) proposent deux voix séparées, chacune pouvant être jouée dans des sections opposées du clavier, la voix la plus basse pouvant aller jusqu'à B2 et la voix supérieure commençant à partir du C3 (C du milieu).
Sélection et reproduction de voix One Touch Setting La fonction très performante One Touch Setting appelle immédiatement et automatiquement la voix et les paramètres appropriés lors de la sélection d'un morceau ou d'un style. En d'autres termes, lorsque la fonction One Touch Setting est activée, le choix du style ou du morceau souhaité entraîne automatiquement celui de la voix la plus adaptée ainsi que la banque Multi Pad. 1 Appuyez sur la touche [VOICE].

Elle détermine également la hauteur de ton des morceaux et des multi pads. Cela vous permet faire correspondre avec précision l'accordage du PSR-172/170 avec celui d'autres instruments.
Sélection et reproduction de morceaux Le mode Song propose 100 morceaux spéciaux qui ont été créés à l'aide des sons riches et dynamiques du PSR-172/170. Les morceaux sont en général destinés à être écoutés pour le plaisir ; vous pouvez toutefois également les jouer en même temps sur le clavier. Les morceaux du PSR-172/170 servent aussi de support à la fonction Lesson (page 34), un outil didactique très pratique qui facilite l'apprentissage de la musique, en joignant l'utile à l'agréable.
Sélection et reproduction de morceaux 4 Arrêtez le morceau. Appuyez sur la touche [START/STOP]. Melody Voice Change Le PSR-172/170 vous permet de jouer une mélodie au clavier avec chaque morceau, soit avec la voix de la mélodie originale soit avec une de votre choix. En effet, la fonction Melody Voice Change vous permet de remplacer la voix originale utilisée pour la mélodie par une voix de panneau que vous choisissez vous-même.
Sélection et reproduction de morceaux Modification du tempo Le tempo du morceau reproduit peut être réglé dans une plage de 40 à 240 b/mn (temps par minute). 1 Appuyez sur la touche [TEMPO/TAP]. Valeur actuelle de Tempo 120 TEMPO -04 2 Modifiez la valeur. Utilisez le pavé numérique pour sélectionner la valeur de tempo souhaitée ou servez-vous des touches [+]/[-] pour l'augmenter ou la diminuer.
Sélection et reproduction de morceaux Réglage du volume de morceau Il est possible de régler le volume de reproduction du morceau. Ce réglage n'agit que sur le volume du morceau reproduit. La plage du volume se situe entre 000 et 127. 1 Sélectionnez la fonction Song Volume dans le menu Overall. Appuyez sur la touche [OVERALL] autant de fois que nécessaire, jusqu'à ce que « SONG VOL » apparaisse sur l'afficheur.
Sélection et reproduction de morceaux A-B Repeat Cette fonction utile est idéale pour l'entraînement et l'apprentissage. Elle vous permet de sélectionner une phrase d'un morceau (située entre les points A et B) et de la répéter, ce qui vous permet de vous exercer à l'interpréter. 1 Lorsque vous jouez un morceau, sélectionnez le point A (point de départ). Sélectionnez et jouez le morceau souhaité. (Voir page 29.
Song Lesson Cette fonction vous permet d'apprendre à lire la musique et à jouer au clavier facilement et en vous amusant. Les 100 morceaux du PSR-172/170 peuvent être utilisés avec ces fonctions d'apprentissage. La fonction Lesson vous permet d'exécuter indépendamment les parties main gauche et main droite de chaque morceau, pas à pas, jusqu'à ce que vous les maîtrisiez et soyez prêt à travailler les deux mains ensemble. Ces leçons sont divisées en quatre étapes, comme vous le voyez ci- dessous.
Song Lesson 2 Sélectionnez la partie (gauche ou droite) sur laquelle vous souhaitez travailler ainsi que l'étape de la leçon. Appuyez sur la touche [R] pour travailler la main droite et sur [L] pour la main gauche. En appuyant sur l'une ou l'autre touche plusieurs fois, vous accédez aux différentes étapes de la leçon dans l'ordre : Leçon 1 → Leçon 2 → Leçon 3 → Off → Leçon 1, etc. L'étape sélectionnée apparaît sur l'afficheur.
Song Lesson Leçon 1 — Timing Cette étape de la leçon vous permet d'apprendre à synchroniser les notes — toutes les notes peuvent être utilisées du moment que vous jouez en rythme. Choisissez la note que vous désirez jouer. Pour la main gauche, utilisez une note dans la section d'accompagnement automatique ou jouez la note appropriée. Pour la main droite, jouez une note au-dessus de F#2. Contentez-vous simplement de jouer chaque note en synchronisation avec l'accompagnement rythmique.
Song Lesson Leçon 2 — Waiting Dans cette étape, le PSR-172/170 attend que vous jouiez correctement les notes avant de poursuivre la reproduction du morceau. Cela vous permet de vous exercer à lire les notes à votre propre rythme. Les notes apparaissent sur l'afficheur l'une après l'autre, au fur et à mesure que vous les jouez correctement. 1 2 Sélectionnez un morceau. Sélectionnez la leçon 2.
Song Lesson 3 Jouez la partie en question en même temps que le morceau. Après l'introduction, le morceau commence automatiquement et les notes s'affichent. La leçon 3 vous apprend à écouter attentivement la partie audible, puis à interpréter tout seul la partie assourdie. Leçon 4 — Both Hands Cette leçon est similaire à la précédente, mais ici les deux parties - gauche et droite - sont assourdies. Vous devez donc jouer et maîtriser les deux mains en même temps.
Song Lesson Grade La fonction Lesson dispose d'une évaluation intégrée qui contrôle votre jeu et attribue une note à vos exercices, comme le ferait un professeur. Il existe quatre évaluations : « OK », « Good », « Very Good » et « Excellent ». Lorsque la fonction Talking (page 40) est activée, l'instrument « annonce » votre évaluation. on 1 Excellen Sélectionnez la fonction Grade. Appuyez sur la touche [OVERALL] autant de fois que nécessaire, jusqu'à ce que « GRADE » apparaisse dans l'afficheur.
Talking Grâce à cette fonction, votre instrument vous « parle » via les haut-parleurs, annonçant l'évaluation de votre jeu ainsi que les titres des étapes des leçons et le nom de certaines fonctions. TALKING on 1 Sélectionnez la fonction Talking. Appuyez sur la touche Overall de gauche autant de fois que nécessaire, jusqu'à ce que « TALKING » apparaisse sur l'afficheur. on TALKING Indique que la fonction Talking est sélectionnée 2 -04 Activez ou désactivez la fonction Talking, selon le cas.
Dictionary La fonction Dictionary consiste essentiellement en un « recueil d'accords » intégré qui vous montre chacune des notes des accords. C'est un outil de travail idéal lorsque vous connaissez le nom d'un certain accord et que vous voulez apprendre rapidement à le jouer. 1 Appuyez sur la touche [Dict.]. Dict. TEMPO 116 2 Spécifiez la note fondamentale de l'accord.
Sélection et reproduction de styles Le PSR-172/170 met à votre disposition des modèles d'accompagnement et de rythme dynamiques, ainsi que des réglages de voix appropriés à chaque motif convenant à de nombreux styles de musique « pop ». Au total, 100 styles différents, répartis en plusieurs catégories, sont disponibles.
Sélection et reproduction de styles Reproduction de l'accompagnement Lorsque le mode Style est activé, les touches du panneau présentées ci-dessous fonctionnent comme des commandes de style. En appuyant sur cette touche, vous basculez entre les parties Main A et Main B. Un motif de variation rythmique s'intercale automatiquement avant le passage d'une partie à l'autre. (Voir page 46.) En appuyant sur cette touche, vous activez ou désactivez l'accompagnement de basses et d'accords.
Sélection et reproduction de styles ■ Démarrage à l'aide de la fonction Tap Tempo Cette fonction vous permet de reproduire la vitesse (tempo) de l'accompagnement automatique par tapotement et de le faire démarrer automatiquement à cette vitesse. Il suffit de tapoter sur la touche [TEMPO/TAP] quatre fois (ou trois fois pour un style à 3/4 temps) pour faire démarrer l'accompagnement automatique au tempo tapoté.
Sélection et reproduction de styles Démarrage avec une partie Appuyez d'abord sur la touche [MAIN/AUTO FILL] à plusieurs reprises si nécessaire, pour sélectionner la partie (A ou B) qui suivra la partie Intro. Puis appuyez sur la touche [INTRO/ENDING] pour mettre la partie Intro en attente. INTRO≥A TEMPO 116 Indique que la partie Intro est activée et sera suivie par la partie Main A. Appuyez sur la touche [START/STOP] pour lancer la partie Intro et l'accompagnement.

Vous pouvez le faire de trois façons différentes : ■ En appuyant sur la touche [START/STOP] Le rythme ou l'accompagnement cesse immédiatement. ■ En utilisant une partie Ending Appuyez sur la touche [INTRO/ENDING]. Les accords sont souvent rédigés sous la forme d'abréviations, ce qui vous permet de les reconnaître instantanément (et de les jouer librement en y ajoutant la sonorité ou les inversions de votre choix).
Sélection et reproduction de styles Multi pads Ces pads vous permettent de déclencher instantanément diverses phrases musicales et rythmiques lorsque vous jouez du PSR-172/170. On dénombre au total 40 sons ou phrases différentes (10 banques, comprenant chacune quatre sons de pad). Les phrases sont reproduites à la même vitesse que les réglages Tempo et changent aussi au niveau de leur harmonie avec les accords d'accompagnement (que ce soit en mode Style ou Song).
MIDI Le PSR-172/170 dispose également de bornes MIDI assurant l'interface avec d'autres instruments et périphériques MIDI. Reçoit les données MIDI envoyées par l'appareil de transmission connecté. Transmet les données MIDI (performance au clavier) à l'appareil connecté.
Dépistage des pannes Problème Cause possible du problème et solution Lors de l'activation ou de la désactivation du PSR-172/170, un son bref est émis. Cela est tout à fait normal et indique que le PSR-172/170 est branché. Des parasites se manifestent lorsqu'un téléphone portable est utilisé à proximité. L'utilisation d'un téléphone portable à proximité du PSR-172/170 peut produire des interférences.
