Optimizing the speaker settings automatically (YPAO)

OPERATION
4 Place the YPAO microphone at your listening
position and connect it to the YPAO MIC jack
on the front panel.
Note
Place the YPAO microphone at your listening position (same
height as your ears). We recommend the use of a tripod as a
microphone stand. You can use the tripod screws to stabilize the
microphone.
The following message appears on the front display.
Note
To cancel the operation, disconnect the YPAO microphone before
starting the measurement.
5 To start the measurement, press ENTER.
The measurement will start in 10 seconds. It takes
about 1 minute to perform the measurement.
Note
To cancel the measurement, press RETURN and then follow the
procedure in “Error messages” (p. 44).
“Result Info.” appears on the front display when the
measurement finishes.
Note
If “Error Info” appears, press the cursor key (E) to check the
error message (p. 44).
6 To check the measurement result, press the
cursor key (E).
If “No Warning” appears on the front display, the
measurement is properly completed.
Note
If any warning message (such as W-1) appears on the front
display, see “Warning messages” (p. 45).
7 Press the cursor key (D) or RETURN.
8 To save the measurement results, use the
cursor keys (B / C) to select “Save” and
press ENTER.
To finish the measurement without saving
the result, use the cursor keys (B / C) to
select “Cancel” and press ENTER.
Note
You can change the YPAO settings (YPAO On/Off and YPAO
Volume) in the “Setup” menu (p. 50).
9 Disconnect the YPAO microphone from this
unit.
Notice
The YPAO microphone is sensitive to heat, so should not be
placed anywhere where it could be exposed to direct sunlight or
high temperatures (such as on top of AV equipment).
