Remote
control
This section describes the function
of
each button on the
remote control used to control this unit or other
components made by Yamaha or other manufacturers.

Common controls
The following buttons can be used
no
matter which input
source
is
selected.
CD
Infrared signal transmitter
Sends infrared signals.

Turns this unit on, or sets
it
to
standby mode.

Changes the remote
controllD

o MAINIZONE 2
Switches the zone to be operated by the remote control
between the Main Zone and Zone 2 (see page 46).
® SLEEP
Sets the sleep timer (see page 19).
® Input selector buttons

Selects the input source and changes the control area (see
page 47).
(j) OPTION
Turns the OPTION menu on and
off
(see page 40).
® SPEAKERS AlB
Turns on and
off
the set
of
speakers connected
to
the
SPEAKERS A and/or SPEAKERS B terminals on the rear
panel
of
this unit when the corresponding button is
pressed.
® MUTE
I6!ImII
Mutes the sound output. Press again to restore the sound
output to the previous volume level.

VOLUME

R-S700 only)
Increases or decreases the sound output level.
Note
This does not affect the output level
of
the REC jacks.
® RETURN
Returns
to
the previous menu or ends the menu display
when using the Option menu (see page 40).

@ CODE SET/RECEIVER
Used
to
program the remote control
so
that it can control
your other external components (see page 49).
After using the remote control to control one

components, this button

control to receiver mode so that remote control commands
will be sent to this unit (see page 48).
