Troubleshooting
Symptom Cause Possible Solution
The power won’t turn on.
The power indicator doesn’t light.
The power cable is connected
improperly.
Connect the power cable properly (see page 11).
The [POWER] switch is not turned ON. Turn the [POWER] switch ON. If the power still will not
come on, refer the problem to your Yamaha dealer.
The unit is not receiving an input
signal.
The input cables are not connected
properly.
Connect the cables properly.
The source device is not delivering an
appropriate signal.
Output a signal from the source device and make sure
that the SIG indicators on the appropriate channels
will light.
The internal head amplifier gain is not
set to an appropriate level.
Set the internal head amplifier gain to an appropriate
level.
The SETUP menu’s START UP MODE
setting is REFRESH, but the supported
digital mixer has not started up.
Start the supported digital mixer to send the setting to
the Rio-D2.
The input level is too low. A condenser microphone is connected. Turn the [+48V MASTER] switch ON.
Turn phantom power for the corresponding channel(s)
ON.
The internal head amplifier gain is not
set to an appropriate level.
Set the internal head amplifier gain to an appropriate
level.
No sound is heard. The cables are not connected properly. Connect the cables properly.
The SETUP menu’s START UP MODE
setting is REFRESH, but the supported
digital mixer has not started up.
Start the supported digital mixer to send the setting to
the Rio-D2.
Output is muted. Unmute the output on the supported digital mixer.
The Dante settings of the Rio-D2 do not
match with those of the supported
devices.
If you are using a supported digital mixer, set the
CONSOLE ID to #1 on the digital mixer to be
synchronized. For other devices, match the settings in
Dante Controller.
The head amp cannot be controlled. The Rio-D2 has not been mounted on
the RACK of the supported digital mixer.
Mount the Rio-D2 on the RACK of the supported
digital mixer.
Adjusting the internal head amp gain
does not change the audio level.
The Gain Compensation function is
turned on.
If you are not using the Gain Compensation function,
turn it off.
The Rio-D2 cannot be found in Dante
Controller.
An incorrect value is assigned to the IP
address for Dante.
Initialize the Rio-D2.
The Rio-D2 cannot be found in R
Remote.
The UNIT ID setting conflicts with
another R series unit.
Set each UNIT ID uniquely.
The Rio-D2 cannot be found in R
Remote.
The IP address setting is incorrect.
Alternatively, the network is connected
wrongly.
Re-check the network settings. Check whether they
are set to the same subnet. If the SECONDARY
PORT parameter is set to REDUNDANT, check
whether the unit is connected to the [PRIMARY] port.
The power LED is lit, but nothing
appears in the display.
A malfunction may have occurred. Contact a Yamaha service center.
Button operations and encoder
operations do not work.
Panel lock is enabled. Defeat panel lock.
To defeat panel lock, simultaneously hold down the
(DEC) button, (INC) button, and the encoder with
switch for approximately three seconds.
