Using copy and paste to place a control
Copy a control in the component editor or Detail View window, and then paste it into the custom control
panel. In the component editor or Detail View window, you can copy the control by either pressing the [Copy]
command shortcut key <Ctrl> + <C>, or by clicking the [Copy] button of the tool palette. In the custom con-
trol panel, you can paste the control by either pressing the [Paste] command shortcut key <Ctrl> + <V>, or by
clicking the [Paste] button of the tool palette.
1. Make the copy-source component editor or Detail View window active, and select a con-
trol.
2. Hold down the <Ctrl> key and press the <C> key.
The control will be copied to the clipboard.
3. Make the custom control panel active; then hold down the <Ctrl> key and press the <V>
key.
The control will be copied. You can also paste by clicking the [Paste] button of the tool palette.
The order of the controls
The controls will be stacked with the most recently pasted control on top. Edit boxes will be in the tab order in
which you pasted them
• In the component editor, you can select multiple controls by holding down the <Shift> key while you
click and drag. Controls that were copied in a single action will be pasted in the same order.
