5. Settings
The settings for this product can be made in the following ways.
Making settings from the command line using the CONSOLE port
Making settings from the command line using Telnet
Making settings from the command line using SSH
Making settings using the Web GUI
Restoring this product’s settings to their factory-set defaults
You can log in to this product either as a standard user or as an administrative user. This section
explains how to log in as an administrative user.
Different users are permitted to log in depending on the firmware used. If the product is configured
with factory settings, then the following users can log in.

The rest of this chapter describes the login procedure when using Rev. 4.02.10 or a later version of
firmware is used.
Important
If the firmware is updated from Rev. 4.02.09 or earlier to Rev. 4.02.10 or later while
operating the product, then the user settings might be updated automatically in some
cases.
If updated with no administrative user registered:
The initial administrative user name “admin” is automatically added, which
requires entering “admin” to log in the first time.
If updated with no user password specified:
Login is possible using the same password as the user name. (For security
reasons, the password should be changed after login.)
