INSTALLING THE FRONT WHEEL
1. Lubricate:
9
wheel axle
9
wheel bearings
9
oil seal lips
9
speedometer gear unit
2. Install:
9
brake disc
9
front wheel
Refer to “CHECKING THE BRAKE DISC”.
NOTE:
Make sure the projection
a
on the speedometer
gear unit fits between the projections on the
outer tube.
3. Tighten:
9
wheel axle nut
4. Connect:
9
speedometer cable

NOTE:
Be sure that slit

on the speedometer cable
meshes with the projection

on the speedome-
ter gear unit

Make sure the brake cable is routed properly.

Before tightening the wheel axle nut, push
down hard on the handlebar several times
and check if the front fork rebounds smooth-
ly.
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease
40 Nm (4.0 m·kg, 29 ft·lb)
